PDF Queen Reigns Among Search Engine

Ahead of me are challenges that I know will test my patience, perseverance and determination. Beginning June 1, 2010, by the grace of God, I will be assigned as Executive Assistant to one of the highly respected officials in our school. The terms of reference of an Executive Assistant can be summarized into two words as GREAT RESPONSIBILITY. Before this new task was entrusted to me, I am already trained on secretarial job being the nature of my present work. One particular task that I always encountered with is  pdf search and download. There are many PDF search Engine in the web, but there's one particular  PDF Search Engine  that I find really helpful, the PDF Queen. On this website, you can choose by your location or country to narrow down your searches. I tried to search for the Executive Assistant's Manual and I was so impressed with the result. Right after typing the phrase 'Executive Assistant's Manual' I was prompted with an option to choose the HTML version with the help of Google which automatically generates html versions of documents as the site will generate pdf results. The advantage of this was that while downloading the pdf copy, PDF Queen will provide us with the immediate result but in html version. If the PDF download is done we can save a copy of it.

Here's a snapshot of my experience with PDF Queen:

Perfect, right? PDF Queen indeed reign in the world of Search Engines.

TT: Going Deeper

Faith: Trusting Your Own Deepest Experience

"To go deeper is a choice". that's the line of my friend Leah when she gave her message yesterday during our Wednesday Fellowship.

Yes, that it absolutely true. God gave us this freewill-our freedom to choose. There is a price that we need to pay if we opt to go deeper, according to her. Prices like patience, endurance, determination, and FAITH. She emphasized FAITH. Going Deeper is a STEP OF FAITH. Again, I agree with her.

Faith is the ABSENCE OF FEAR. Unlike FAITH, fear will crippled us- disabling us to do what we ought to do (in accordance to God's will)... On the other hand, faith will move us and allow us to do what seems to be impossible... FAITH originated from God, and with God NOTHING is impossible.

And so now, I need that kind of faith. Now that I am about to take a greater challenge ahead of me, I need a multiple dosage of faith to enable me to do what seems to be impossible... With this amount of faith I will be able to get empowered without a hint of fear nor doubt...

Going deeper is a LEAP of faith... I need to make that choice.

Without God I am Nothing...

MyHotComments.com

Yes without Him I am nothing. God has proved it to me so many times... and He proved it again to me this time. When I was in the situation wherein I have no one to run to except Him. Again, God's answered to my prayer saved me when I found myself in a very awkward predicament... that if not because of His intervention, I do not know if where will I be right now.

I declared God's awesome goodness, His present help in time of needs...His faithfulness in my life is immeasurable... In spite of my unfaithfulness... my defiance... He loves me unconditionally...

To Him I bring back all the glory and honor!

The Magical Pinkville

This has something to do with Yuuki's Contest Mechanic for her Twin blog Anniversary, to write a blog review about one of her sponsors...
And I picked Liz' Pinkville blog. This pinky blog has a symbol of femininity on it all over. From her choice of colors to her graphics, Sailormoon was there.. Her blog focused on girl power... Oops, did I say it right? No! She's into magical thing... She played Magic: The Gathering! (or was that a game?)  Gosh I don't have any idea about that game but it seems like she really enjoyed it so much... Hmmm why not check it out for you to see...

Blog Review: The Drama Queen

I just realized that Yuuki and I shared a lot in common.... from the favorite color (which I assume and presume as PINK), for being Asian drama fanatic and to being bubbly!(I supposed)
Her DRAMA QUEEN blog is indeed a proof that she prefers Asian dramas than our very own, which she justified well as to why. But it seems like she's about to broaden her territory in Drama thing... She's into American dramas too! well, I'll be expecting a whole lot more from this blog... As of now, I have her blog on my list to keep me posted!
go go go Yuuki!
(Note: Please feature Korean drama videos that can be downloaded :)

Blog Review: It's Not Always About Me, Really?

This is a blog review for Yuuki's It's Not All About Me
Partly true...she justified it by the next line of her Blog Title: BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT IS...
Yes, that's Yuuki. I might not have the chance of meeting her personally but i can tell that she's bubbly! And like me, she's into pink! A certified Pinka-holic! Her sponsors would really love her more because of her thoughtfulness. Why? As you can see on her blog, all her sponsors were well presented on her reviews and mind you, all their badges are on her sidebar! No wonder more and more sponsors won't hesitate to back her up. As you can see, her prizes are indeed so tempting. By the way, she's my co-BC blogger!
Nice knowing your blog Yuuki, you're now the latest member on my BLOG LIST. Check it out!

The Game Is On for Yuuki!

Wow, Indeed summer won't be complete without joining this contest sponsored by Yuuki in celebration of her blogversary! Well, to qualify for the Raffle Prize, you must have a minimum of 500 points (contestants can have more raffle tickets depending on her total points, e.g total points = 1100 is equivalent to 2 raffle tickets). Earning the points are fun as well. Here's how:

Special Notes:
* For those with multiple blogs, you can do items A to D on all your blogs with full credits (but use one name/ email add)
* Contest Sponsors gets 100 points top-up

I am so preoccupied in joining the contests for my blogger friends. Actually, I should be one of them considering that I just turned one year in blogosphere on the 17th, but due to time constraint and sponsorship, I wasn't able to come up with a contest like this. So far this is the third contest I've joined so far for this month alone! Hmmm... hope I could have the chance to win to any of them since their prizes are so tempting!

You Inspired Me...

Yes you read it right... YOU inspired me. By merely reading this post, you inspired me to write more. By writing your comment, you inspired me all the more. Writing has been my passion ever since my younger years. It is through this hobby that I could release all my tensions as well as my stress. It is through writing that I could express my thoughts and emotions when I have no enough courage and confidence to say it. This is how I communicate with my Mom when talking back is not an option. And this is also how she understood my feelings. Writing plays a very important role in my life.I can be of myself, I can really be who I really am. When things seems falling apart for me, pen and paper are my most trustworthy companion. They allow me to pour out my feelings and after that I can really be okay. I write because I am confident that someone will read it. I write because I know that someone will understand me without saying anything. I write because God gave me that passion and I write hoping that someone else will be inspired to do the same.

I was also inspired to draw. I am not a professional artist but God designed me to have this passion as well... It is in my sketches that I find solace when I am drained from work. It is with this passion as well that I know God can use me mightily...

I am an average writer... an average artist but God put an unexplainable contentment in my heart that being average on the talent that He gave means contentment on the simplicity of life that only Him can fill. After all, God is too wise to be mistaken. Thanks for inspiring me! God bless.

Health is Wealth at Oxis International

The most sought-after product nowadays are those products that contains anti aging properties.  As early as 25 years, most men and women alike patronize products that contain such properties. Many of us are also particular with whitening products. The most popular right now are glutathione. We can find it in soap, lotion and even in capsules!  Check http://www.oxis.com for their products that does not only contain anti aging and whitening properties, but anti-oxidant as well! Oxis International is the premier provider for the potent anti-oxidant, which is the Ergothioneine. It maybe hard to spell but it is absolutely effective. As I searched about this kind of anti oxidant, Ergothioneine is an antioxidant amino acid that occurs naturally in the body and is found in high concentrations around cells that are subjected to free radical damage. Getting health conscious needs a considerable amount of investment. Do not settle for less but of suspicious quality, they're all nothing but a penny stocks. OXIS's Ergothioneine is the only significant commercial source of l-ergothioneine worldwidemanufactured by Oxis.

Check Oxis on facebook as well.

Hello Investors

The success of a business does not only depend on the manpower aspect, it also relies much on the system which may include   business phone systems. It is prerogative of every entrepreneur to have an accessible business that will really connect to their target market. Business downfalls can be the result of poor connection to the prospect customers not unless you are only settled within the locality and does not care much on the outside community. Business phone systems shall be one of the utmost considerations of an entrepreneur. But let  it be known as well that not all business phone systems gives a satisfying performance. This is one thing that a business man should look into. Talking about business phone system, consider the provider who gives a guaranteed performance at a very reasonable (affordable) cost. Choose the one that you can customize depending on your business needs. It's a matter of being wise and effective in handling business that can prosper any aspirant investors.
So be wise, do not just invest on things which you are not certain of. Rather, go for what is beneficial and can give you a profit more than what you have expected. Moreover, have wider spectrums about your business, why settle for less when you can have more? In the same way, do not just limit yourself to the four corners of your location, think globally.

SEO surely matters!

Most of us, if not all, hardly knew about search engine optimization and how it is done. I, for instance, I have difficulty in understanding about Search Engine Optimization. A friend told me that it is a way of getting your website on top of the list in the directory. An online friend of mine makes a bargain with me by exchanging links with her and put it on my sidebar to which I willingly comply. In return, I have this blog on top of the list if you gonna search for it. Although it didn't work on my two not-so-popular blogs.
What is the significance in getting your website on top of the list in a directory? Simple, your site will be the first choice among the many. If we can notice, once we will search for something and type it on any Search Engine, you will be directed to a Search Result page. Usually it runs up to multiple pages and it is a great advantage if the site you are trying to optimize is on the top of the first page. Well, it depends on the Search Engine. Based on my own experience, when I type the title of my blog, it is on top of the list based on the result secured by AVG (click the picture) but with google and yahoo, I got different results.
When you are going to invest your site and to have a maximum optimization to any search engines,  you must bring this matter to a SEO specialist whom you can really trust.

Level 1... COMPLETE

I didn't realize... I just turned 1 year in my blogging career yesterday....
Mind you, I really learned a lot! I may have my ups and downs but everything goes back to normal as it should...
I do have bad experience with my first attempt of cash withdrawal... (can't still figure out as to who's fault was that)... But as a whole, I truly enjoyed blogging... A very wholesome learning experience....
I even used this as a tool in my subject for my students... They too were able to create their own blog...
So now, it's been a year... HOWEVER, wasn't able to come up with any ideas yet to celebrate, thus
No contest...
no giveaways...
no promos...
but in spite of that, hopefully, there will be...
more followers...
more readers...
more opportunities...
more posts to post...
more topics to discuss...
more opportunities to cater...
more ideas to share...more support from my co-bloggers...
and an increase on my page rank!
I am moving forward...
LEVEL UP!

ROLANDO NG III on Pilipinas Got MORE Talent (09.03.10)

Who among us won't won't get carried away of the charm of this young smart boy?
He rock the Pilipinas Got Talent World with his one of a kind singing talent!
And I am very much proud to say that HE IS MY NEIGHBOR @ Kisanlu Subd., Iponan CDO City. I used to call him "THIRD".
I was fascinated with the charisma of this child the first time I knew him. That was during Christmas Party. He will talk to you as if he knew you already. When I asked him to sing he gladly complied without hesitation.
Before I let him buy in our small retail store, I let him sing and his favorite album (I would say) is the Air Supply!
He might not made it to the final (sob) but this child proved his worth already!

WRITE TO EXPRESS NOT TO IMPRESS...

(This is my output during our workshop. The editors got a lot of observations as to the composition as well as the grammar of this article but I'll have it posted anyway...)

ARE YOU DEPRIVED WITH YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD? How far are you willing to go to express your opinion, thoughts and ideas? Will you settle for the local arena or go beyond your boundaries? Do you wish to address your message to the majority or to some selected few? These are challenging questions that each one of us should take into consideration when we want to exercise our freedom of expression.

Expressing our freedom of expression knows no limit. We can go as far as we could imagine, not literally but technically. We can use various forms of medium in sending our message. In return, we can receive feedbacks from the message we sent. That is how communication goes. It is a two-way process. In the communication process, we can either be the sender or the receiver. If the receiver becomes responsive, it could only mean that the message was interesting enough. Otherwise, we need to reconsider the significance of our concerns before sending it out.

We might have that freedom of expression but with that freedom we must have that sense of accountabilities. We are accountable of everything that we said, of every message or opinions that we expressed. We must uphold honesty and integrity for every word that we expressed. That’s real freedom. It is exactly contradicting to what most people believed. Freedom may mean doing things in accordance to our will but its consequence is beyond our control. Of course, no one would wish to spend the rest of their lives behind bars, would you? ETHICS is the keyword for that freedom to be fully exercised.

All these insights I learned not just by merely sitting on the corner and doing nothing, I learned all of these from the two-day seminar workshop in Basic Journalism sponsored by the Corporate Affairs Office of Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST). The activity was initiated to equip the university with pool of writers from various departments that will bring the latest updates of the university to the global community.

We have to write to EXPRESS, not to impress. Otherwise, we might end up so depressed.

Happy writing!

Essence of Journalism...

I am very much privilege to be a part of the Seminar-Workshop on Basic Journalism initiated by the Office of the Corporate Affairs in our school. It is a two-day workshop pre-loaded with a lot of inputs in journalism. I totally appreciate this kind of activity. Writing has been already a part of me. I've been writing in many forms but honestly I don't have basic knowledge in journalism. Though I am not into news writing but the fact that I did vital documentaries that has something to do with the procurement process, I knew that this one would really be of great help.
Ms. Imma Rae Gatuslao, Chief of the City Information Office (CdeO) was our first lecturer on Writing for University Affairs. I learned a lot from her about corporate communication. I learned that  the corporation's voice and the image it projects should go along well together. We should be able to maintain the integrity by being honest with all our inputs. She emphasized that ETHICS is a necessary component in corporate communication. In writing, we should consider our receiver as part of our constituencies by giving them an appropriate messages through an equally applicable medium that suits their need and situation.
An effective communication should have the following criteria:

Our lecturer put it simply this way:
Sender --------------->     Message    --------------> Receiver
Medium

after the message was sent through an appropriate media, the receiver may have his feedback which in turn will make the sender as the receiver this time (it's a two way process just as shown on the figure above). The presentation was brief but concise. I also learned about 5Ws and 1H (What, Who, When, Where, Why and How). Informative, indeed!
The second topic was about The Basics of  News Writing  by Mr. Ismael Talili. He gave us our first workshop in straight news writing focusing on our new enrollment system that was recently adopted by the school. After the challenging group activity presentation, a rigid critiquing/editing was done which concluded the first-day session. One powerful point that I learned from his discussion was that, in news writing we should  Keep It Short and Simple (KISS)...

Now, that's what I considered as the essence of journalism!

I am looking forward for another challenging task tomorrow....

Election 101: How To Accomplish The Ballot

2 days more to go and it's gonna be a judgment day for all the aspiring candidates of the AUTOMATED May 2010 election...

The COMELEC said everything is all set for this Monday's nationwide activity...Many apprehensions, speculations and confusions (all synonyms?) were made by the public, especially by the lower class society who were not able to get the opportunity of educating themselves with the current method. Even for those who are knowledgeable enough with computers still need further understanding about the new procedure. From filling up the ballot to feeding it to the PCOS machine is still an issue... With my little effort to inform us all (this is also available to the COMELEC's Official Website), the following are the methods in accomplishing the ballot:

HOW TO ACCOMPLISH THE BALLOT
Pursuant to Section 35 of Resolution No. 8739
1. The voter shall, using a ballot secrecy folder and the marking pen provided by the COMELEC, fill his ballot by fully shading the oval beside the names of the candidates and political party participating in the party list system of representation of his choice.
2. The voter shall then approach the PC0S;insert his ballot in the ballot entry slot and wait until the ballot is dropped into the ballot box. The BEI shall monitor the PCOS screen to make sure that the ballot was successfully accepted. Thereafter, the voter shall return the ballot secrecy folder and marking pen to the chairman.
3. The chairman shall apply indelible ink at the base and extending to the cuticle of the right forefinger nail of the voter, or any other nail if there be no forefinger nail.
4. The voter shall affix his thumb mark on the corresponding space in the EDCVL.
5. The voter shall then leave the polling place.

Please be guided. Vote with conscience.

TT: Being Thankful

I've got a lot of things to thank God for:
1. for the life of Meryl Ajan who committed her time to study the Word of God with me through PDL series;
2. for the opportunity that God entrusted on me to share His message of Patience/Impatience to my fellow brethren;
3. for my Lighthouse family and their prayers;
4. for the wonderful things that God has in store for me... for the things that is yet to come...

I am positive and firmly believe that something good is about to happen to the community and to our nation as a whole right after the national election. (AMEN)

TCP: Inkheart

I'm back for Tuesday Couch Potatoes! Before I will feature my choice of movie for this week's theme, let me say something about Novel-based stories... (I didn't mean to spoil anything, no pun intended :)
Sometimes, novel-inspired movies doesn't convey every detail that we have read from the book.. Well, of course, considering the scene that only a pen can mightily do, it's actually understandable. Most of the movies that I were able to watch left me hanging, not because the movie wasn't good enough but the story is a little bit different...Well, CREATIVITY comes in. Let's consider the "choreography" thing....
Anyway, I've seen a lot of novel-inspired movies, I have there The Notebook (which I already featured on the previous edition), Lord of the Rings (wasn't able to follow completely), Twilight Saga (my students has a lot of comments about this-they love the novel more than the movie), Harry Potter (wasn't able to complete this as well) and a whole lot more!
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke (Hardcover)But, this week, I'm gonna feature ♥INKHEART ♥ with Brendan Fraser on the lead role... I wasn't able to watch this movie yet but I have a book written by Cornelia Funke (soft bound, quite thick)... this is more on more on fantasy adventure movie. But mind you, it's a very interesting story, somehow scared me a bit... I just do hope, the movie speaks well for the novel. Here's the synopsis:
Inkheart (+ BD-Live) [Blu-ray]Author Cornelia Funke's best-selling children's novel comes to vivid life on the big screen with this family-friendly tale about a bookbinder whose storytelling skills possess the curious power to transport the characters he speaks about into the real world. When a nefarious villain from a bedtime story that the father is currently reading to his daughter emerges to kidnap the stunned storyteller, it's up to the young girl and her adventurous friends -- both real and imaginary -- to bring dad back home and close the book on the dreaded fiend once and for all.
My merely watching its trailer, I guess this is promising....

See for yourself and explore your imagination.... Consider this on your list!
God bless....
Parental Guidance is highly encouraged ☺

MYM: Dare to be empowered...

MellowYellowMondayBadge

It's been awhile that I haven't posted anything for my Yellow Mellow Monday entry... And so, for this week, I opt to have this pic (I painted this one during our Family Camp '09). The  theme of our last year's family camp was more on empowerment thus the word "kagahum" was conceptualized for the deco ...

Dear (Pastor) John...

People come and go into our lives... Other chose to stay but there are some who will really stick closer to us. Their life becomes our inspiration. We can rarely find this kind of persons...
I am grateful to God that in my journey as an individual, He lead me to His people who may not really be that perfect but their existence made a difference in my life... I may sometimes felt alone  and empty  on the course of my journey, but God gave me people who filled it up and whom I can consider as my extended family... You are among them Pastor John...
The day I had my first Sunday service, I cannot forget that very warm smile welcoming me wholeheartedly... that was you, and right then I can feel like I really belong. I do admire you as a very loving  father to IJ and Dale as well as a romantic husband to Ate Grace... What an ideal couple I have in you!

I always remember most, if not all, of your nuggets of wisdom, your prank jokes, your loving advices, your words of discipline, your words of encouragement...

Ate Grace said we shared a lot in common when it comes to art, but for me, you are far better than me (considering the AGE...oops.... and the experience)... it runs in the blood, Bro? Seriously, how blessed I am to have known you Pas: my adviser, counselor, a real brother, a minister. Indeed, I can see a "real" person in you.

Thank you so much for everything, I may tend to forget uttering this words right into your face, but God knows that I really do.

May God continually bless you.

Happy Birthday!
