Life Oh Life!

As I was contemplating on how life can be so challenging that it consumes all our patience, it made me think about those who couldn't care less about it. Sometimes, I came to a point of choosing between living carefree and living in accordance to the standard of the society (those that are said to be legal and appropriate). I am actually experiencing hollowness deep within me... I am confused once again.

There's one thing that I want to give up but I do not know how should I go about it. I am totally out of control with my life right now. I want to scream for being so dumb... for acting like a numb.

Reality bites once again that sometimes, we tend to forget ourselves and our identity. We lost composure. We forget the basic principle.

I hope and I wish to forget everything but I can't...

How I wish life is like an audio player on which it can be rewind.

But that's not how life was made of...

The truth remains: Life is how we make it.

Are You A Certified Coffee Drinker?

Guatemalan Coffee
Love coffee?
I am a certified coffee drinker, or shall I say addict? How about you? I started my day by sipping a cup of coffee (after getting up from bed) and sometimes, I ended up my day doing the same. I used to be a milk drinker but as I grew in age, I shift to coffee. I really love coffee. My Mom used to tell me that it is not good for my health, but I think otherwise. Coffee is a good source of anti-oxidant and it perks up my day. As time develops, coffee evolves from the simpler two-in-one to assorted flavored coffee. The rich aroma was still there but with a hint of flavors. Coffee shops business flourishes because the people behind it realized how coffee makes a lot of money. Here in Cagayan alone, people are excited for the opening of the newly constructed coffee shop that is said to be the first in Mindanao. It is not only local residents who are certified coffee drinkers, even foreigners loves the taste of our coffee here. I have tried native coffee as well that is made out of rice or corn and it taste good as well and with added benefits too. I  already tried capuccino, pandan coffee and other flavored coffee but there's one thing that I find so interesting- it's guatemalan coffee. Sounds new? Find more about it, right here.

Buy and Sell?

Trading is an art of buying and selling commodities. In the early years of civilization, we adopted the Barter System which is done by exchanging goods without involving money. As the trading system develops, it introduces the Buy and Sell system. It now involves money as an exchange for the goods being bought and sold. In this kind of trading, big capital money is needed in order to go on with the business. An entrepreneur will buy goods and then sell it for a minimum interest for profit. Big investments mean big profit if handled properly. With the booming technology we have now, it greatly affects the trading system. Buy and sell can be done via online. One of the famous buy and sell website is the AyosDito.ph. It is proudly managed by a Filipino. By the name itself, indeed it is “ayos dito” (it’s good here). As I look further into the content of the website, you have a variety of choices as to what to buy from what they are selling. The good thing about the site is that they almost have everything you need from small gadgets, bags for sale and to real properties. I was even amazed with their apartment for rent. It’s more than buy and sells business; they are also functioning well as online classified ads. Basically, AyosDito.ph is your one stop shop wherever you are in the Philippines. Their items to be sold are categorized per region so shipment is never that difficult for you. If you want to sell something, just post an ad by simply filling up their forms. By the way, I love pink, in fact I was so fascinated with the featured laptop and apartment posted at AyosDito.ph. Check it out.

Mortal Sin

I cannot contain my emotion yesterday when I read degrading comments on fb of  the ex-gf of my colleague against my board mate/room mate/colleague and close friend rolled into one (complicated huh?). Personally, I am sensitive/reactive type of person. I do not want any of my friends to be treated that way. Jealousy or rather insecurity was the main reason why the said ex-gf posted nasty comments on the wall. But she never admitted as being insecure to my friend (in contradict to what she had posted on the wall). With all those comments and reactions, I considered her so pathetic. She's gone beyond professionalism with what she did. What a mortal sin it is to look down on someone. Nobody has the right to do so. All of us must remember that we are not all perfect therefore we have no right to degrade any person for any reason.

Shalom!

Be A Part of the International Outsourcing Summit

Tthis coming October 26-27, 2010, there will be a two-day International Outsourcing Summit that will be held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza to be attended by top global industry executives who will debate the future of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). I was simply amazed with how top global market leaders took time to convene and discuss about the development process in order to recover from any financial challenges that became a problem not only here in the Philippines but to other top countries as well.  This is going to be interesting because these top global market leaders will provide insights about fast-emerging, new age of offshore outsourcing that is expanding opportunities for the industry but creating new and complex challenges that will dramatically transform the industry. This will be discussed by the competent resource speakers from top companies here and abroad.

Outsourcing to the Philippines became a trend in the business industry nowadays. Many were benefited and given opportunities to be employed to work for other countries without necessarily going abroad like call centers. Here in Cagayan de Oro  alone, there is a wide job fair happening regularly for call centers which would also mean more opportunities especially for the unemployed but competent job seekers. Outsourcing does not apply to call centers only, it is also applied to online marketing which became a top pick for job seekers who loves to work right at the comfort of their home. Online marketing needs to be studied as well. These too will be discussed during the summit. Present on the summit also is the Search Profile Index (SPI),it is a service which will help companies in assessing their  current status against their competitors. SPI was launched by 4th Media, who is also the media sponsor for this upcoming activity.

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino commended his officials yesterday for their efforts in easing the impact of typhoon “Juan” through effective implementation of disaster preparations.
“I am very happy to report to the public that everyone has delivered. The thorough preparations of all concerned agencies are in marked contrast to the official helplessness of the past, and at present, we haven’t had to ask the public to contribute outside resources,” Mr. Aquino said in a statement.

PhilStar Headline: Powerful typhoon nears (as of 12:00AM)

Weather forecaster Mario Palafox shows the position of typhoon Megi as it heads across the Pacific Ocean toward the Philippines on a TV monitor at the Pagasa office in Quezon City yesterday. BOY SANTOS
Yesterday, my boss asked me to research on news about an important issuance through the Philippine Star news dated October 14, 2010. However, I cannot access to their Archives unless I will register, and so I did. I was thankful then because having been registered, I can have a daily servings of fresh news through their news updates emailed to my account.

This morning, I received my first automated email from them. I was glad because honestly I am not really updated with the news before unless I will watch news on television. Their headline for today's news is about the predicted powerful typhoon called "Bagyong Juan" (international name: MEGI) that may hit Northern Luzon and other neighboring provinces anytime this week. Such news was really alarming and worth to be spread out so that others may know.

I was thinking then of updating this blog with daily servings of major news or headliners from them.

Let us also pray that Typhoon Megi will have a change of course away from any landmarks in or outside the Philippines. We've been through a lot last year with Ondoy and Pepeng... Let us pray that Juan will not bring any destruction. God will listen.

Customized Christmas Cards

sample
It is only few months left and we will again celebrate the Holiday Season. As we all know, this is the best time of the year to express your genuine generosity.  For the coming Holiday Season, aside from the gift giving rituals (as we used to do it) exchanging card is also part of the game. However, the long line on the malls may consume your patience just for a card, so why not have it via online. There are many online companies who sell greeting cards at affordable price, but of course, not individually but by bunch. Like 123print they offer 10 cards, at the minimum, for an amazing price of as low as $6.95. Not only that, you can also customize it with their photo option. Isn’t it amazing to have your card send to your love one with such a personal touch that will really leave a lasting impression to them? Not only that, the text is customizable. With that, you can express your heart out. Indeed, you can now do away with pre-formatted card sold in the market with wonderful messages but not from your own thought (only similar, as the case may be). Avail this and have a customized, different Christmas.
Happy Holiday!

Floody Friday

We have another round of intensive workout at the office this morning. Yes, that workout was the effect of the flood last Friday caused by heavy rain and overflowing of the creek. This was the first flood for this month (thrice from the previous month). The two hour rain brought flood much worst than the other week, but not as worst as last year. Well, life as it is, there are times when our patience are really tested… Patience is a virtue anyway! Few weeks from now, we’ll be transferring to the other location.
