Homeless and Hopeless... What Else?

Few days from now and it will be Christmas already. Some will be celebrating it together with the whole family while those who were victims of the Tropical Storm Sendong will be spending it most likely at the evacuation center if no relatives or friends will be going to adopt them.

Homeless and hopeless, this would be the common feeling of the majority. I do not know how the government will address this kind of problem. Hundreds of families were affected and finding them a shelter of their own is not that easy (Not unless those realty owners will have the heart to donate a parcel of their lands that is away from the prone- to- flood areas). It's nice to note that there are so many concerned citizens who have took the initiative to extend their help by giving foods and clothing. Speaking of foods, noodles, uncooked rice and canned goods are okay however, for those who cannot cook because they were not able to save any cooking utensils, perhaps, a ready-to-eat foods are more practical though it is quite tasking and needs more helping hands to do so.

Well, in view of this dilemma (yup, I could really considered it as  a dilemma), some people took the initiative to have a campaign for cooking pot. Well, of course for those who are not able to make it here personally at CDO, you can donate a cash. the aim is to collect 1,000 cooking pots for those severely affected families.

Please join the campaign and care to pass this message.

God bless!

Who Would Like To Party....

...after the tragedy?

Words are not enough to console those who lost not only their belongings but also their love ones. Tropical Storm Sendong's wrath leaves Kagay-anons in total mess. There are still lots of people who are missing, some dead bodies remain unclaimed. It is so difficult to have this kind of burden, seeing those who were severely affected became so helpless. I wasn't able to roam around the city but by merely hearing and watching the news, you will really felt for those brethren who is in total agony. We are slightly affected too but the things that I felt that night was way too far compared to those who were living near the river, whose house were being washed out by the flash floods.Indeed it is so difficult to describe the whole scenario. People were wailing, calling for their love ones, desperately seeking for help. It is hard to imagine enduring such situation in the wee hour of the morning where there is a total power failure. Some were caught unaware, really unprepared. Nobody expected it to happen, or if they did, nobody thought it would be that worst. Among those who were casualties are children, pregnant women, old ones. Cars were totally wrecked, overturned, and washed away from the owner's residences. Animals were not even spared.

I commend for those concerned citizen who extended their time and effort to help. Also for those City officials who were truly sincere with their eagerness to help... I just hope that those politicians who were trying to ride into the situation for their political will and hidden agenda be enlightened enough. I can name a few who is trying to make a name in exchange of their "heartfelt" donations. God knows the motives of your heart, you cannot fool Him. My salute to the Vice- President of the Philippines whose humble presence was not smeared with any political hidden agenda. You can really felt his sincerity and concern for the victims.

For those businessmen engaging in water refilling business, it is such a sad scenario that some of them are making business beyond the normal situation (a refill with a price double than the suggested retail price). I just hope they can empathize with those victims instead of choking them to the extent. There is a water scarcity in the entire city. People are squeezing their resources just to get safe drinking water. Indeed, businessmen applied the law of supply and demands, wherein if the demands are high but the supplies are low, the price will surely go higher. But there should be an exemption to this- hope they can realize it.

Christmas is barely one week from now. I do not know how those victims were able to celebrate it. Will they have it at the evacuation center or will they able to get a shelter of their own by that time? It is hard to share to them that Christmas is not all about what we have, it's not all about us, it's about the One who were sent to save us.It is all about Jesus Christ. Maybe only few will be able to understand it especially that they are such in  a horrible situation. This 28th of December, we are supposedly be celebrating a Christmas Party in our office but we changed our mind. We just cannot afford to have fun while others are in a helpless situation.

Just like Job who experienced more than the current situation that we have felt right now, I know from deep within that God allow things to happen for a reason. May we not lose that faith. No matter how painful our situation might be right now, let's hang on to the truth that God is still in total control.

God bless everyone.

11th Commandments: Thou Shall Not Provoke Anyone...

I've been struggling for years on how to overcome my emotion when I am provoked. Most often, I uttered words which I would regret afterwards... I tried to justify my action by thinking logically or practically. Nevertheless, I still get to hurt someone else' feelings after what I have done. I admit, I easily lose my temper. But this will not happen only if I am not provoked to have such feelings. I tried to be patient as much as possible but there are just some people who really tried your patience harder and before you knew it, you have already exploded to the extreme. We should somehow consider all our actions in a way or manner that we cannot provoke other people. There are things that can be settled immediately without necessarily going through that heated conversation or arguments. Insensitivity is one of the leading causes of factions. People who are unmindful, prideful, selfish and those who will only accept orders from the bosses are the same people who will likely cause misunderstanding among an organization. Sad to say, they too can cause others to succumb in extreme anger. Such attitude becomes a threat to an organization. Cooperation should be the main focus of every members of the group and not selfishness, so to speak.

If we used to believe in the Ten Commandments, then it's time to add one for all of us to remember:

11th Commandments:

Thou shall not provoke anyone to commit undesirable temper.

Reel Weekend: FireProof

It's my first time here and I would like to feature "Fireproof" as my entry for this week's episode.

This movie is ideal for young couples and even the old ones who went through marital conflicts that may lead to separation. The moral of the story is indeed very clear: to love unconditionally and to keep the marriage life alive and above all to save marriages under constant pressures and confusions.

Leading the role are Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea. It's a very heartwarming story with so much lessons to learn.

Watch its trailer here.

Behind The Scene...

The entertainment showbiz world is indeed full of controversies and intrigues... full of malice and hypocrisies...Every moves of any celebrities will either be applauded or judged... Even Celebrity fans exchanged hate emails to the rival of their idols... They loved their idol so much that they are willing to risk their lives for them... Oops, that's over exaggerating but somehow it could really happen...

The entertainment world were bombarded with so much issues like the KC-Piolo case... then now comes DJ Mo-Rhian controversies... People have different reactions with regards to the said issues. The celebrity concerned have their fair share of explanations... As if they are really obliged to answer every question. Whoever is at fault, only them can really answer. However, each one of them tried not to put themselves in bad limelight thus they really have to tell a lie and nothing else but a lie...

Celebrities are good of hiding their real identities... their real skin... They can easily convinced the public with the way they handle every situation. Some celebrities are strong enough to face every issues and controversies while there are those who just cannot control themselves and just simply disappear...

But at the end of the day, when they are alone, they will be held accountable in everything they do.

It's a Boy!

Last Saturday me and my hubby were so excited to know the gender of our baby. Right after the Prayer Breakfast in our church, we immediately went to Oro Ultrasound for an ultrasound (obviously!) He was so happy when he learned that it is a boy. I am so excited as well that I sent general message to all my families and friends... We then both decided a name for the baby after almost half day of brainstorming LOL! Then yesterday, Sunday, we bought baby's apparels... Wee we are so excited for our bundle of joy...We just couldn't thank God enough for the happiness and excitement!

By the way, his name will be JEUSH GREGORY!And the nickname would be KOBE! Want to ask me why? His father is a frustrated basketball player so he want to pass on his long time dream of becoming a professional basketball player to his son (God willing) ^_^

One thing that we could hope and pray for is that my baby will get his father's height in order to realize such dream ^_^

How about you, what's the latest thing about you that you want to share?

Overcoming Evil

"Overcome evil by DOING good"- this is a Biblical truth. But the question now is how? How can you keep calm if somebody yell at you or scold you for no apparent reason? It needs great patience to ignore such situation. The truth is, somehow it's quite hard to do.

But the Bible is clear with that kind of situation. We may find it too hard to comprehend but the Words of God speaks clearly about love and that includes loving those who persecuted us. In fact, we are also instructed to bless those who persecute us. God is not insensitive (you might think so). Always remember that NOTHING and absolutely NOTHING is hidden from God. He knew it when we cry out of desperation, discouragement and affliction. But always remember, VENGEANCE is not ours. Let us just continue to love other people especially those who are too mean to us. I agree with you that this is quite hard to do because I admit, I still have to deal on the area of patience. We are not alone on this journey. All we have to do is too seek for God's help and wisdom that we may be able to overcome all those pains by God's grace.

Have you been scolded today? Take a pause and lift up everything to God.

God bless everyone!

Care To Share?

There are ideas that are meant to be shared... Ideas that just came into our mind... Sometimes, out from the abundance of our heart, we tend to utter something that we regret afterwards. Other times also, we shared good things to others that we could be thankful about... We may oftentimes forget all those things but one thing is for sure, what you did to others may have a negative or positive impact to them. Either way, we still have a chance to correct it, improve it or maintain it.

We have different experiences and all these experiences brought a new lessons that will guide us on our future undertakings...

So, care to share any insights from you?

A Thought From An Expectant Mom

I am so overwhelmed with how time flies so fast. Before I notice it, I am already feeding my baby... Well, I still cannot get over with the thoughts of the pain that I am going to endure soon. But I am confident that God will help me get through it. Lately, I am already experiencing lots of fetal movements, I love the experience though it's quite painful sometimes. They said it is a sign of a healthy baby and I should be thankful about it.I am supposed to undergo an ultrasound last Saturday but I forgot to bring the doctor's note. I have to schedule it by next Saturday since the Doctor will be requiring it during my next appointment with her. I am quite nervous of the result. I am still crossing my fingers for a wonderful results. I heard lots of stories about giving birth and its ordeals. And as far as I could, I tried not to get affected with those negative things I heard... I need to be strong and to keep myself calm as much as possible. It's my seventh month and it is possible that I can give birth anytime at this stage but I am praying that I will have it by January next year. I am going to be a Mom and I am so excited about it. I know I still have lots of things to learn and lots of responsibilities to cope up... Well,it's gonna be an exciting journey and I am looking forward to have a smooth transition from being just me to being a Mom-to-be...

Please say a little prayer for me :)

MYM/WFW: The Fruit

I love fruit salad so much because aside from the fact that it is a healthy food, it also taste so good. Almost everyday I included fruit salad on my diet... I know the benefits that I can get from it. Physically, it will keep me on the right track...

Maintaining a healthy diet is as good as maintaining a spiritual diet... We can be physically well nourished but our soul is deteriorating. I could consider that as a great loss... What's the essence of being fit yet our soul is dehydrated from the nourishing Words of God?

For those who were able to keep a balanced diet, physically and spiritually, have you shared that fruit of the Holy Spirit?

Galatians 5:22-23

New International Version (NIV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Who among us got enough love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? Sounds too good to be true? If we truly established a real relationship with God, all these will manifest in us... Other people can feel it, they can testify about it... Obtaining all these fruits takes time and effort and determination as well... Just like a tree, before it will bear fruit it needs to be taken cared cared of, undergo pruning and above all, it takes time to grow and eventually bear that much anticipated fruit.

Let that fruits grow within you!

God bless!

Dare to Lose Weight Effectively!

Are you in a rigid diet? If it is so, how far have you gone with dieting? Many people right now who is into diet tried almost everything just to meet their level of expectations. Some resorts to rigid physical exercises just to achieve their goal. Well, the reality there is that not all physical dieting ends up to be successful. If you are one of those who exerted double effort in exercise in order to lose weight but didn't end up the way it should be, it might be simply because only few of us are persevere enough to continue with the routine.

Why is that so? Physical exercise will not only drain our body, it will also consume much of our time. I am not saying that I am against it, what I am just trying to emphasize is that if you think you cannot make it til the end, better not start doing it otherwise you will double your size before you knew it.

There are alternative ways to effectively lose weight. As for me, the best method to burn that unwanted fats is to take something that will not drain you physically. I am referring to African Mango pill. I have heard a lot of diet pills but as far as what I have reviewed from the testimonies of those frequent users, African Mango pill is indeed very effective in losing weight!

Wanna know the benefits of African Mango pill? Check this out!

So what are you waiting for? Grab one now!

An Unusual Encounter

My first day of class quite made an impression as I got my students to answers random questions. I have qualms at first in handling ICT subject for Public Administration students considering that this is my first time but I tried to overcome it by allowing them to share and pour their hearts out. I am surprised with how they truly shared their life's experiences, some were even teary eyed in giving their answers... I used to do most of the talking during the first day of class but this time it was different. I then realized that it pays much to listen than to do a  lot of talking. Even if that was still our first  meeting (except for those some shiftee students who used to be on my class before but on different subject), the gap between me and them was gone. I just so love the idea that there was a kind of spark that goes on among the class.
I truly cherished that first day of class.
