Do You Know the History of Your Triumph Motorcycle?

The first gas-powered motorcycle was created by Gottlieb Daimler in about 1885. Since then, the motorcycle has evolved into the ride you recognize today. One of the companies that have been there almost from the beginning is Triumph Motorcycles. How much of the history of your Triumph in Charlotte do you know?
 Triumph Beginnings

A German man named Siegfried Bettmann arrived in Coventry, England in the 1880s, and shortly after his arrival he began the S. Bettmann & Co. Import and Export Agency in London. With this company, which he would rename the Triumph Cycle Company in 1886, Bettmann would sell bicycles created by other businesses. When a German engineer by the name of Schulte was introduced into the company, he would help Bettmann begin actual manufacturing of bicycles. In 1902, Triumph produced their first motorcycle, known as No. 1, using a bicycle frame with a 2.2 hp Minerva engine. The company would continue producing bicycles and motorcycles, and would supply over 30,000 Model H Roadsters to allied troops in WWI. This motorcycle would come to be known as the Trusty Triumph, and is often regarded as the first modern motorcycle. In 1919, Schulte would leave the company, wishing to begin automobile production, but finding little support from Bettmann.

Automobiles and More

The new partner to Triumph, Colonel Claude V. Holbrook, would also show an interest in automobile production, and in the 1920s, automobile production would begin. The Super Seven would prove to be a popular Triumph vehicle. Bettmann would retire in 1933, shortly after the bicycle manufacturing portion of the company was sold. Facing financial trouble, the automobile and motorcycle portions of the operation would split in 1936. Jack Sangster would acquire the motorcycle side of things, and began exporting to the United States. In 1940, Triumph would begin production for WWII, selling over 50,000 motorcycles to the military over the course of the war.

Popularity and Longevity

In the United States, celebrities would bring fame to the Triumph motorcycles, with Marlon Brando riding a 1950 Thunderbird in the 1953 movie, “The Wild One,” Bud Elkins and Steve McQueen riding a TR6 650 Trophy in “The Great Escape” in 1963, and EvelKnievel performing stunts on a T-120 Bonneville and 650 Bonneville, such as his jump over the fountain at Caesar’s Palace Casino in Las Vegas. In 1959, the T-120 Bonneville 650 would become the highest selling British twin of all time. In the 1980s, Triumph would again face financial trouble, but would be purchased by John Bloor in 1983, confirming that Triumph would be the largest and longest running British motorcycle manufacturer, and to be considered by many as the longest running motorcycle company in the world. Today, you can still find a Triumph in Charlottesville and across the United States and around the world, with models such as the iconic Bonneville, the Daytona, Rocket III, and many more still in production.

Flight MH370- Still Missing

We have heard about crashed plane incidents yet Flight MH370's case is different because the exact location of its debris is still a mystery. After three days since the report shocked the whole world, still it is missing. What could have happen to the passengers of the missing plane? It has been presumed that 2/3 of the total number of passengers could have died.

There are speculations that a terrorist attack caused the plane's mishap, others thought it could be a hi-jack case. Whatever causes such tragedy, wish there are still survivors.

Let us pray that it will be found soon.

Beats Studio 1
When it comes to choosing the best headphones, my hubby knows the quality he can get with Beats Studio. As a sound technician, he frequently use headphone especially when he is going to edit an audio record. Personally, I have also tried using the original Beats Studio headphone and I can really attest how comfortable it is to use. Aside from that, with its active noise cancellation, it is not painful to the ear after long use. It is also very good looking and not awkward to look at when worn anywhere.

You could never go wrong owning a Beats headphone. You can avail Beats by Dre Studio from guitar center. Its sound quality is superb and very much comfortable to use. You will really get the kind of quality that you paid for. Beats is a trusted brand for headphones. Get one now!

NO ONE Is Perfect!

Sometimes in our lives, we can easily pinpoint the bad side of a person and we tend to ignore them fearing that we might be influence by them. And I admit, I am one of them.

I tend to judge a person so easily. If I learned that he is not doing good with his life, I choose not to befriend him.

But the message above brought me to one great realization: NO ONE IS PERFECT, not even me!

I realized that in as much as I dislike a person for his unbecoming attitude, me too can be that kind of person- having an unbecoming attitude.

Reality bites...

It is easier to find good people and it is easiest to leave the bad ones...

BUT

It is quite harder to find the good in people and ignore the bad in them because of our prejudice attitude.

However, when we are facing this kind of dilemma, let us remember how much God loves us that He saved us in spite of all our inequities.

I know it is easier said than done, but let us not forget that the kind of life we spent here on earth will determine our final destination.

We can be a vehicle of change for other people.

So the next time we find that something is wrong with them, let us approach them with love and gently correct them and accept their total being. Then let us hope and pray that other people will do the same for us. We can never realize our mistakes unless others will correct us.

Just saying.

What 'The Motorcycle Helmet Laws' Should Provide?

Vehicular accidents involving motorcycles are very rampant nowadays. In most cases, victims are either get killed or badly injured. The Motorcycle Helmet Laws has been strongly imposed in most countries. However, in country like United States of America, not all states imposed the said law. Other states also opt to impose it partially.

The Motorcycle Helmet Laws aimed nothing other than the protection of the motorcyclist. However, some motorcycle owners are so stubborn that they neglect the use of helmet despite the fact that helmet is given free upon purchase of motorcycles.

The law must include on its provision the standard helmet that should be issued by motorcycle dealers. All helmet should pass the quality inspection. It must be the kind of helmet that can really protect when accident cannot be avoided. Like the saying that goes, 'an ounce of protection is better than a pounds of cure', the approved helmet should be durable enough and not just a kind of helmet that will easily break when an impact occurs. And maybe, all motorcyclist have the right to complain against any motorcycle dealers who issued sub-standard kind of helmet when necessary.

My Scrap Book: A Work In Progress

One of my favorite past time is making a scrap book. It is through this activity that I can showcase my creativity. I love to sketch, doodle, make a collage and most of all cut letters and photos. I want my scrap book to be personalized as much as possible so I only uses my own pictures. Right now, I am still working on my family scrap book. Actually, I started doing it two years ago. Most of the contents there are all about me and my hubby and our wedding memorabilia. Since we already have two babies, I plan to include them to make it a family portfolio.

In making  a scrap book, it may involve a lot of printing activities. Like in my cases, most of our family pictures are saved on my social media account and I don't have a had copy of it. I have known that there are online sites that cater local printing which will lighten up my load in printing concerns. Making scrap book is a lot of fun. However, I am the moody type and I can only work on my scrap book when I am in the mood that is why until now it is still a work in progress. How I wish I could finish it so I could start a new one featuring the progress and development of my babies.
