How To Let Go With Our Stubborn Ways?

Judges 2:19 (97 kb)

New year, new hope, new aspirations. These were just some of those things that most of us would like to do as we face another year to live for. Perhaps last year we have gone through lots of setbacks, regrets, remorse and all those circumstances that really put us down. Most oftentimes when we are down, our spiritual walk goes along with it. I do not really know with you but as for me, it happened. I know God sees my heart, the attitude of my stubborn heart. Many times I've been struggling with it. I seek for a real answer but all the more I felt being lost. I have no one else to blame to but myself. I kept on asking God why I became so insensitive with His calling. I have lots of good things on my mind yet I failed to administer it. One failure after the other and I felt like my soul was already buried six feet below the ground. I tried to view things positively but my eyes were blinded with my emotion.

Have you been with that feeling that you were supposed to be in the midst of God's presence during Sunday worship but your mind was just wandering? Or have you tried to keep on telling yourself to read your Bible but suddenly your attention was caught by something else? You are completely aware how sick you are but you never seek for counsel nor do something about it? Have you also tried sharing the good news just like you used to do but suddenly you run out of words to say it. This is alarming, I know and honestly I felt so guilty about it. I cried before God for so many times asking Him to renew my heart, my spirit and rekindle the fire, the burning desire to make Him known that I once enjoyed. I am not saying that I turned my back completely to the truth, I just lost the desire and until now I am still trying to ask myself what I really want to do in my life. I know God is not happy with me now and my stubborn ways continue to bleed Him. What I need is complete revival, now at least I realize that my heart still longs for it.

WFW: Our Attitude When Praying

Luke 11:1-4 (84 kb)

Every time I have my class, I always start it with a prayer. I call for volunteer to lead the prayer and most often than not, my students pray the universal prayer that was taught to them back at home or church: the Our Father.

I used to tell them that spontaneous prayer would be more intimate. I really do not mind if they will pray on the language that they are more comfortable with as long as they will pray from the bottom of their heart. Our attitude in prayer matters most. It is our heart that God sees, and it is what matters to Him the most. No matter how good you are in choosing the right words when praying but your heart was not into it, it may not be pleasing before God. So the next time we pray, pray sincerely. We may pray according to the principle of ACTS:

A- Adoration
C- Confession
T- Thanksgiving
S- Supplication

So, what's in your heart right now? let it be known. Pray with all your heart.

God bless every one!

WFW: So Lost...

Psalm 119:133 (114 kb)

Lately, I felt like I am totally overtaken by bad happenings in my life. First, we lost our great step dad, next, my patience has been challenge to its peak. I easily get mad and I wanted to shout all my disappointments in life. Well, this is the consequences brought by all those things that I have decided before. And it seems like it is hard for me to understand. Why hard? It's because I failed to listen to his Words.

Lord, change my heart please with all willingness. Cleanse it from all unrighteousness.

WFW:How Firm Is Your "NO!"?

The mindset of the younger generations now are greatly affected with the   fast development of technology. It influences their lifestyle, their decisions and their priorities. If we are going to compare the youth today from yesterday, we can say that there is really a broader generation gap that one may likely to fall if not given enough attention.

But hey, it's not only the younger generation who were severely affected with the rise of high technology. Even the older ones who are very much open and could easily adapt to the great changes are also one of the primary targets. In some cases, a family relationship could be endangered because of the communication barriers caused by technology. Family talks and family bonding were lessen because the kids were glued to the internet. Or worst, Mom do not have any idea anymore of what's going on with her kids because she's so into social networking, chatting some old or newly found friends. Dad got the same dilemma because he is too busy upgrading his customized PC and so much alike situations. I am not saying that technologies are bad. But how it affects you is what I am trying to emphasize here. We gradually become too overwhelmed with what technologies have brought forth to us that we become comfortable with it. If you notice that your life becomes a slave to technology and your world already revolves around it always waiting on what's the latest design and all, then learn to say NO while you still can. NO to bad influences, NO to worldly passion.

WFW: Give To Your Heart's Content

Are you struggling in the area of giving? Me? Yes. But I was trying harder to be faithful on this area. Honestly, I am a good giver as long as I have something enough to give. I do not hesitate to give if that will give joy to my recipient. Because it feels good when someone is happy because you shared. However, when there's nothing left in me, how can I give? We cannot give what we do not have! I cannot give what I do not have! I oftentimes asked God to bless me abundantly so I could bless others as well. But there are just some things that I do not understand. Well, maybe God wants me to learn something and whatever is that, I still have to deal with it.

But again, I still firmly believe that God loves a cheerful giver- those who gave without hesitations and with full of joy. He knows our anxieties and the reason every time we cannot give. Our God is an all-knowing God. Nothing is hidden from Him. I love the prayer of Jabez so much. His boldness before God is contagious, I often pray the same prayer before God

"Bless me so I could bless others..."

How about you? Do we share the same thoughts? Care to let me know about it and how do you deal with it?

May God bless us all with His richness beyond measures. Amen

BETRAYAL

Can you still remember Judas? For few silvers, he was able to betray Jesus...

But it's not only through money that were able to betray Him. In many ways we betrayed Him. Can you still remember those things you promised before Him? Have you vowed not to hurt Him anymore but you still do it?

I for sure knew all these things because I AM SO MUCH GUILTY ABOUT IT :(

Helping the Helpless

Helping the helpless. It takes enough compassion and sensitivity to do so. If we will only look around us, we can see many of them. And maybe, we are one of them. Being helpless does not only apply to those who are less fortunate... it could be you or me. We might be helpless in some areas of our lives. Let's try to assess ourselves: How strong are we in coping up with all the challenges that we encounter along the way? How strong are we in fighting our greatest enemy?-our egotistic personalities that tries to pull others down in order for us to surface.
Let's get real. We need help, and ultimately, we need prayers.
How about now?
