Tips for a Happy Roommate Situation While at College

When you are looking for the best among available Murray State University housing, you are probably looking for a place that is close to the buildings you have the most classes in, a place that is within walking distance of important businesses, like grocery stores or your favorite restaurant, or a place that is filled with amenities. While all of these factors are extremely important, you want to ensure that you are able to be happy while you are at home. Getting along with your roommates might arguably be the most important factor about where you choose to live. Read on to garner some tips about having the best social relationships possible with those you will room with.

Roommate Match

The world of online dating has become an accepted social norm. Not only is it acceptable to date and even marry a person that you meet online, but it is actually a really good idea to check out. Many high-quality dating sites have grounded science behind the ‘matching’ part of the site, making the search for an appropriate mate a little easier. So, why all this talk about Internet dating, you ask? You are going to school, not looking to get hitched. The point is, you can take the same science of matching compatible people found in online dating and apply it to finding compatible roommates. Sound a little time consuming and confusing? Don’t worry; some housing complexes have this as a complimentary service. Bonus!

Living with Friends

When looking at Murray State University housing and your roommate situation, a good solution is to room with friends. You already know the personalities of your friends and know that you have similar interests and other things in common. However, no matter how much time you spend with someone and how much you get along, you will not know everything about a person until you live with them. Be prepared to learn more about your friends if you live with them. If you have any indication that they (or you) might clash about something, talk before moving in with each other and set some ground rules that everyone can agree on. It will help clarify expectations and make life happier.

In Dire Need Of Inspiration

I realized it's more than a week that I haven't written anything here. Actually, I have a lot of things in my mind but I just cannot put it into writing. I am totally disorganized, I mean all my thoughts. I am not into hiatus, I just can't find an inspiration to write. Or maybe because I was totally overwhelmed with my personal struggles against those people or this one person who keeps on bringing out the 'BEAST' in me (Oops, I did it again). I supposed to write about the CDO Bloggers' Night Thanksgiving Party but I truly miss it, not intentionally of course. I just thought that that maybe I could find the right time, when everything for me is already okay.

Anyway,it took me almost two hours before I was able to finish this post. And during those time in between, I edited a picture through PIZAP about the Family Christmas Gathering we had since 2010. I realized, I am not getting any younger anymore because my nephew and nieces are now much taller than me LOL. But merely looking at them in the pictures gives me a new inspiration that I should not let this one person to destroy all my positive energy. Wish I could get rid of him. I just don't know how and it's quite complicated.

The Wonder of Being a Musician

Music soothe one's soul. Majority of us loves music. Music comes in many forms. There are music that we can hear through songs and music coming from the musical instrument alone. I love it when somebody sings with an accompaniment. Yes it is true that voice quality can be determined through an a capella rendition  but it is more enhanced when accompanied with instruments. I am totally impress to those individuals who can play musical instruments especially those instruments that seems too difficult to try like the saxophone. I guess it requires a lot of practice before one can master the art of playing saxophone. Those who played this kind of instrument maybe went through a formal training before they could perfect the timing and the melody as well. Maybe etude eas-100 student alto saxophone at music123 is a good instrument to use for those who are aspiring or those who are still beginners in taking up the saxophone lesson. And once they have enough skills and mastery in using the saxophone, it's going to be a great talent to behold. So, to all musicians out there, why not try this instrument? Musicians are supposedly versatile because that's the wonder of them (I supposed)

Introducing: Kataste Oyster Meat Sauce

so mouth watering!
image not mine

I am supposed to be with my co-bloggers this afternoon for a free lunch and a chance to taste the Kataste Oyster Meat Sauce, the first in Cagayan de Oro and certified home made to perfection but due to some immediate school activity, I wasn't able to go. Indeed, I missed one tasty lunch hosted by the Domingo's, the owner, and I missed to taste the said oyster meat sauce as well. I am quite interested about it because my Mom loves to cook with an oyster sauce and maybe I could introduce this new product to her especially that we'll be preparing for the Noche Buena next week. Well, I'm gonna watch for it in the store one of these days. Oh by the way, their products are also located in Nazareth fronting Lourdes School :)

Also, get to like their Facebook page for more info!

Need More Blessings for Christmas

Christmas Thanksgiving Party in our church will be this coming Sunday yet I haven't prepared myself for it. I wish to buy new clothes for my babies and presents too for our beloved Pastors. I really do not know what to give considering that I do not have the luxury of time in going to malls or anywhere else for it. I also have a limited budget honestly. Well, if only I have enough money on my PayPal account, I could just do the shopping online. I want musical instruments for all of our Pastors because all of them are musically inclined. Wish I could buy them guitars, Zildjian Drums, brand new keyboard and other musical instruments that they will surely love. Hmm,why not. They only deserve the best! However, I need more blessings so I could realize it.

I really do not know what particular topic to write this time. My mind is wandering and well, I am totally out of myself. I started the day bad and seems like it will remain that way for the rest of the day. I am supposed to attend a lunch gathering earlier but I decided to stay. Honestly, a lot of things are playing on my mind but I am completely disturb.

This is the negative effect when you are overly sensitive. You tend to take things too seriously that it will really affect your mind set as well as your daily goals. Instead of doing the things that you have planned ahead, tendencies are, you could procrastinate. Workbooks are piling on my table this time yet I do not have enough energy to check all of those. I am not only disturbed, I am also totally disoriented.

If there's one thing that my life have taught me, that is to to be tough in facing any challenges. Yet, this time I don't even know how to differentiate toughness from hostility. Yes, I am becoming hostile with life nowadays.

Why to Use a Taxi Service?

There are a lot of different tools you can use to get you where you need to go. You can choose private transportation using your own personal vehicle or, if that isn't an option, you can choose from one of the many different public transportation options. Public transportation includes things like buses, subways, shuttles, and taxis. When choosing between all these different forms of transportation, there are some important benefits to choosing Knoxville taxi cab services to get you around.

Taxis Over Other Public Transportation Options

While there are many benefits to using buses, subways, or shuttles for public transportation, these methods also come with some disadvantages that taxi cabs do not have. For example, taxi cabs offer a level of privacy that is not possible in these other forms of public transportation. On a bus or subway, you have to travel with huge groups of people, but in a taxi you can have a cab all to yourself. This offers you space and privacy that makes it possible for you to make phone calls, check your emails, or handle other personal and private things. In addition, taxis are a much more convenient option than other public transportation methods. With most kinds of public transportation, you have to work around a specific travel schedule, going to designated stops at specific times in order to catch a bus, subway, or shuttle that is heading toward your destination. On the other hand, if you ride in a taxi cab, you can get picked up whenever you need to be picked up; you don’t have to follow a schedule or run to specified pick up points. Also, a taxi will drop you off exactly where you need to go so you don’t have to worry about transporting yourself from a drop-off point to your actual destination. All of these features make taxi transportation much more convenient.

Taxis Over Private Transportation

Taxis also have their own benefits over private transportation. When you use your own vehicle, there are many costs associated with that form of transportation, like maintenance costs, gas, insurance payments, etc. If you use a Knoxvilletaxi cab service, you can save yourself a lot of money by eliminating these kinds of costs.

The Best Gift for Christmas

My Mom asked me if I do have some Christmas decor at home and I said NO. She was surprised and quite dismayed. Well, I just told her the truth. I know I was acting like unmindful at all but really, I am not into decoration and besides, I have no sense of art for that area LOL! When I was still with my Mom, I used to assist her with the decoration but ever since I have my own family, I just can't find ways doing such thing which will surely take much of my time. Honestly, I love the sight of every home that is adorned with Christmas lights and other decors. I remember how my Mom skillfully arranged the Christmas balls on her makeshift Christmas tree. My Mom got an exceptional talent of turning an ordinary thing into an extra-ordinary one.
But Christmas isn't all about decors. Not even Christmas presents. However, we cannot deny the fact that in every Christmas, we always anticipate somebody to give us something during Christmas eve. We cannot also hide the truth that when that somebody failed to give us the anticipated gift, we felt bad. Funny, but it's true. We almost forget the humble beginning of Jesus Christ in the manger. In fact, we totally miss to remember that Christmas season isn't all about us, it's about Him supposedly. Well, one may contradict me by claiming that Jesus Christ was born for all of us, thus Christmas is all about us! Well, that's absolutely true. We are the reason why Jesus Christ was born. But it doesn't mean that we need to get the things that we want nor we need to receive the gifts that we love etc etc. Because His birth is enough gift for all of us. Jesus Christ is enough gift for us to receive. We want the best gift in life? Let's receive Him with all our heart, soul and mind!
As for me, I already received such beautiful gift couple of years ago yet I failed to keep that gift in my heart that is why it is best to keep on reminding ourselves over and over again that Jesus Christ is the best gift we could ever have no more no less. Other gifts are just material things that will be destroyed and soon will be forgotten when the season is over.

I am also looking forward of reuniting with my dear brother who was gone for 2 years to earn a living in overseas. I am also hoping that Mama will eventually get her visa for US. Hmm lot of things to hope for. Nevertheless, it is God's final say that shall prevail. Amen.

Update About Thalia

As I watch Maria Mercedes Filipino series every weeknight in ABS-CBN, I wonder what happened to Thalia complete name: Ariadna Thalia Sodi Miranda,  the Maria Mercedes of the original version. I find her so beautiful and gorgeous and she is a good singer too. I learned that Thalia is not only an actor, she's a music producer, a recording artist, author and philanthropist too! For a beauty, a talent and a brain like her, she's like a complete package to every man. She's now an endorser of Macy's, an international fashion collection.

Well, hopefully she will have another TV series again in the future.

RIP Nelson Mandela

"If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner." -
Nelson Mandela

If India had a Mother Theresa, then South Africa had Nelson Mandela too! I know not all of us have known him. Honestly, if not because of the news I've heard, I will never knew that he existed. If US have Abraham Lincoln to fight for the Black American, I am pretty sure that All African are happy to know their hero, Nelson Mandela who made a greater impact to the lives of almost every Africans.

Nelson Mandela are among those individuals who advocates PEACE and not war. No wonder he won the Presidency in Africa during his prime years. The life of this African icon teaches us to seek unity and fight racial discrimination peacefully. Indeed may your soul lead to rest too dear President.

An Open Letter for Ms Kim Henares (Can't Get Over Yet With PacMan vs BIR Issue)

While browsing on my FB account, I stumbled upon this post, read it, shared it on my wall and finally decided to post it here so the world will also know. I know many has been following on Manny Pacquiao's tax case not only by us, Filipinos but to the whole world also who believe on PacMan's integrity and ability.

Dear Kim Henares,

I do not doubt your sincerity to collect taxes from every Filipino, living or dead.

I do not even doubt your integrity in making sure that you are able to collect the proper taxes from everyone.

I am however questioning your motives and arbitrary choice in the personalities you choose to prosecute.

I am going to cite one particular person who has been on the BIR's radar as a perennial tax evader for the last 20-years with cases going in and out of court.

His name is Lucio Tan and he owes the country more than 5-billion pesos in tax liabilities decided on numerous times by the Supreme Court as executory stand final and yet no garnishment order was ever made until his petition in the SC reversed their decisions time and again.

Lucio Tan was never known for his philanthropy or good business practices. He authored the contractualization of PAL and Asia Brewery employees which was not only detrimental to Filipino Labor but also to taxes that could be collected from these workers had they been regular employees.

Lucio Tan is also accused of ill-gotten wealth from his Marcos days, and yet he continues to enjoy his money.

Congressman Manny Pacquiao's case is not even at the High Court and his earnings have already been garnished.

You have been given certified true copies of Pacman's tax payments in the US and yet you refuse to recognize this and insist on originals which I believe, but I may be mistaken, even ?US citizens have no access to.

And to think that Pacquiao earned his money through honest, literally blood, sweat and tears. And he is one of about ten persons who insist in keeping his money in the Philippines because he is a patriot.

He could have stashed it somewhere you cannot reach it if he had things to hide, but he kept it here, so our economy can make use of it.

You cannot even freeze the money of politicians involved in the PDAF scam but you can do this to an ordinary man who managed to rise above all of you through hard work, guts, integrity and the work of his own hands.

And that is why your integrity is rapidly being eroded, because you don't seem to think anymore. You just grab the first victim that cannot fight you.

Because even if Pacquiao is a Congressman, he is not connected to the old boys club and so does not have the clout of the Tan's, Sy's, Dy's and others.

Oh, and Lucio Tan did give over 100 million to Noynoy's election kitty while Pacquiao was with the opposition.

I guess we know now the motivations don't we?

Yours disgustedly,

Your Boss's Boss
-Author Unknown-

Oh there you have it. For me, I would agree on what PacMan said when he was interviewed on television, this is another case of crab mentality.

Sigh ;-(

Remembering Andres Bonifacio

He may not be our National hero, but Andres Bonifacio contributed much in the history of the Philippines. Until now, some people insist that it should be him who deserve the title of a National Hero. However, Dr. Jose Rizal's educational achievement were given much emphasis as well as his non-violent ways of seeking for freedom. But for me, whether he is our national hero or not, Andres Bonifacio is a good example of how Filipinos are willing to risk their lives for our country's ultimate freedom from foreign colonization.

PacMan's Fight Outside the Boxing Ring

The Philippine's Pride, Rep. Manny "PacMan" Pacquiao, faces yet another fight of his life: the tax evasion case. Now that some of his properties and all of his bank accounts will about to be frozen and garnish, PacMan showed his greatest disappointments with how the BIR put such pressure on him.

For me, I am not in the right position to question the decision of the BIR. However, such decision was so abrupt and too publicize that one can really react out of it. Besides, we all know that PacMan's wealth is not an ill-gotten wealth. He earned it by risking his health and life. There are lots of businessmen, politicians, entertainers who are obviously "tax evaders" yet they remained untouched. Another thing, there are lot of measures that can be done to check whether PacMan is really doing his responsibility as law-abiding Filipino citizen. Why not the BIR directly ask the IRS of USA for the documents that proves PacMan was indeed paying his taxes.
