Three Resources to Help You Learn Java

Java is an object-oriented programming language, and it is one of the most popular programming languages used by developers. If you’re looking to become a freelance software developer, looking to join a Java developer company, or just trying to add a tool to your toolbox, Java is a great language to learn. What sets Java apart is that the same piece of code can be run on any platform without being recompiled. Fortunately, Java is easy to learn and there are a few ways to learn it.

Classes

If you prefer learning in a traditional classroom setting, you can take a class in Java at a local college or university. This is easiest if you’re already enrolled at a school, but even if you aren’t, you can usually pay for the single course by enrolling as a non-degree student. If you end up liking the course, you may end up using that credit towards getting an entire degree. Sometimes non-credit courses are also offered by colleges which don’t’ require enrollment.

Online Classes

Online classes and tutorials can also help you learn Java. Learning a computer language means you’re going to be sitting at your computer anyway, so it only makes sense to look online for help. You can take online classes from a university that will give you college credit, or you can take free, non-credit classes. If you’re looking more for more of a crash course instead of a thorough education, you can look for tutorials that will get you doing what you want to do quickly.

Reference Books

Finally, you can also use a reference book to learn Java. This is only recommended for those who are already familiar with programming basics. These books are huge, and the language within is very technical, so you’re probably not going to read it cover to cover. Instead, you can simply use it as a reference when you get stuck. By having a reference book handy while taking a class or following tutorials, you will learn Java in no time. Once you have the knowledge, you can apply at a Java developer company or start working on your own projects.

What's the Fuzz?

Normally, I supposedly been dreaming at this very hour (12:25AM) though I slept late last night, still I am wide awake because of so many thoughts in my mind. Well, I was just being overwhelmed with so many unfinished tasks and deadlines to beat. I need to post my grade later or I'll get my salary sometime in December LOL! I love my job but somehow the way I get paid is suffocating me. Why? I felt like I am so exhausted and yet didn't get to save anything. But anyway, I don't wanna linger on this topic. I just hope and pray that I will really make it in the DepEd next year (may God bless me with strength and perseverance).

A lot of things happen lately that shaken some of our brethren. The earthquake that brought too much destruction to our Cebuano and Boholano was so devastating. And the almost never-ending rain last night worried me a lot too. Natural calamities are the most uncontrollable scenario and I don't want to experience anything of that anymore. We cannot relate it to climate change I guess.

Talking about uncontrollable scenario, I wonder if there's somebody who is an expert in controlling his temper. Well, maybe they do exist but I guess there's just a handful of them. I was actually wondering about myself. I have this temper that keeps on pissing me off. I am so irritable nowadays and I just can't help it. One small argument can already flared me up and I found it really disgusting. I usually blamed those whoever gets on my way but the reality is that it was all about me- the problem is within me. I lost that self-control. I used to be an expert on that before. Now I don't even know how to tamed my mouth. I knew it's horrible and I guess I just needed enough space and air to breathe because I felt like I will explode anytime soon! Oh bottled up emotion, is that you?

This is not ME anymore ;(

Sigh.

Anyway, allow me to take a break because I just want to greet my dear Mom for making it to the top. Yes! she did once again run for Councilor in our little Barangay for the third time. My mother was so dedicated with her job amidst pressures and she deserve such rank honestly ;)

Secure Your Machinery with Knobs, Handles and Hand Wheels

I've been thinking on a business that would help us financially. I want something that needs only low capital yet highly demanded in the market. But of course, everything is a mind conception yet because I do not have enough resources. Food cart is a good idea but again, I still have to save for the investment. Another business idea in mind is the t-shirt printing. I once bought a shirt for my son with an iron-on print. I just love how easily the in-charge maneuvered and operated the machines

Putting up a business is not easy. You need to invest from human resources down to machinery. Big industries need huge machinery and all of them should be properly secured. Not all machines, even brand new ones, comes with safety handling paraphernalia especially if the machine was acquired through auction. As a newbie in industrial business it's okay to use second hand machinery as long as it is still functioning well. Some machines were being auctioned when being replaced by upgraded version. To secure your machinery, it is best idea to invest on industrial handles, knobs, and hand wheels especially if the machine is movable type and has to be used everyday. You can find quality industrial handles at reidsupply.com. They also have control levers available.

from reidsupply.com

If there's one thing that every business-minded people should take into consideration, it is investing on resources that should last long and one way of doing so is securing them in every possible means.

Looking Forward For A Better NAIA

So far, I traveled via airplane only once and that was six years ago when my sister and I went to Manila for a weekend getaway. We landed at NAIA and if I were to assessed NAIA during that time, I can say that somehow they have the 4C's that every airport should have:comfort, convenience, cleanliness and customer service. If I were to compare NAIA to our then Lumbia Airport, there is really a big difference. I am just wondering why NAIA was voted as one of the world's worst airport! How did it happened? When I was there 6 years ago, I appreciated a lot of things except for the fact that all the items being sold inside the airport were very expensive. Other than that, I enjoyed the moment we linger there while waiting for our flight.

Well, I cannot really assess that far considering that the 6 years span of time can really make a huge difference. Well I just hope that the government, specifically the Department where NAIA's concern belongs to shall do something to make NAIA a better airport the next time they will have their worldwide annual assessment. I believe that airport should be the first thing to consider when it comes to development IF we aim to lure more foreign investors here in the Philippines. How could they pour and entrust their resources with us when by the time they landed at the tarmac, all they can see and feel are the negative feed backs.
Passengers arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Manila
image NOT mine :)

I am positive that the government have already plans to address this issue. And hopefully, if given another chance to take another flight for Manila, I could only hope that the 4C's that I have experienced before with NAIA will be the same or much more better then.

Shattered History

My parents were both raised from Bohol and among us five siblings, it is only me who didn't get the chance to explore the wonders of that place. Now that I have my own family, I vowed to myself that we will visit Bohol in two to three years from now. The last time that I was there was more or less eight yeas ago during the death of my grandpa.

I've never been to Chocolate Hills, nor to the famous old churches. I never saw a real tarsier. But I promised myself that sooner than later I will conquer them all.

But this morning's 7.2 magnitude earthquakes seems to tell me that there'll be no sooner than later because they were gone.

I felt sorry for all Boholanons, to my Mom and my relatives, who treasured much those memories that were ruined by the earthquake, especially the historical churches.

The said churches may hold a special place in our Philippine heritage and history, but let us not be totally devastated because the churches maybe gone but our faith shall remain intact to our Lord Jesus Christ who will be back soon. The churches were just an edifice, built by human hands and was entrusted to us by our ancestors. Its ruin doesn't mean that our personal relationship with our Lord and Savior goes with the damage. NO. Let us not forget that it is not the home that matters most, but rather it is the owner of that home. Meaning, it's not the building but to whom we built that for. If Jesus Christ really is the occupant of that churches, let us be at peace to remember that Jesus' final home is not here on Earth but in heaven.

History is a history. They were already written on history books. What happened recently will mark another history for the next generation. Let us not lose heart because it has already been known that nothing will last on Earth- indeed, that historical churches just finally come to its end. Let's learn to accept that. :)

Finally Got My Tablet From Lazada

Lazada gave me a discount voucher worth 1K that will expire soon after accomplishing their offer. And I'm not gonna let that happen so I ordered for a cheaper Tablet that will only get me to pay less than 2K. And because of that, my monthly budget for regular expenditures was adjusted and somehow it causes me some stress LOL! Well, anyway, I got my tablet and so far I love it, my son love it too because he'll get to see his favorite educational videos.

I ordered the tablet last Monday and I received it 3 days after! I thought it will took them 10 days to deliver for orders from outside Manila area. Anyway, thanks Lazada for that expedite delivery.

I still have a P300 worth discount voucher that will expire soon too. But it has a required minimum purchase of 3K. Just in case you are interested just inform me because it is transferable anyway :)

I Am A Teacher- The Impatient Who Taught Patience

It's our day, teacher's day. Greetings from your previous and current students are there. Flowers, chocolates and other special tokens were given.

But what does it take to become a teacher? On top of earning a degree and passing the licensure exam, becoming a teacher needs a lot of things:

PATIENCE
PATIENCE
PATIENCE

Why patience? You see? you'll be dealing number of students with different upbringing. Not all of them learned the moral truths in life. Others went to school not merely to learn, but to escape the hostility that they endured back home.

With my eight years of experience, it's not only once or twice that my patience has been tested. I've been faced with such kind of challenges almost every day. There are students who will be kind to you in such a way that they will be attentive and obedient to all your instructions and do their job well. However, it cannot be denied that there are students who are kinda hard on you. They might have hear everything you say but they are not really listening. These are the kind of students who will really test your limit.

Nevertheless, I am still thankful that I met both kinds. I admit, I am not good in dealing with impatient students because I am impatient myself. I cannot tolerate hardheadedness because I am hardheaded too. My long teaching experience lengthen my patience but sometimes I felt like I should ignore those students who really tried my limit. I should consider teaching as a challenge, not only for myself but for my students as well.

I am a teacher, impatient yet taught my students how to be patient.

No Work on October 15

Philippine advisory: In case you are unaware, October 15 is declared a holiday per Proclamation No. 658.

What is this Holiday all about?

October 15 is the Islamic  Eidul Adha or Feast of Sacrifice. The said date is based on declaration made by Saudi Arabia's highest religious body and upon the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. Eidul Adha Festival commemorates the sacrifice of Abraham of his son Ishmael out of his obedience to God.

For Non-Muslim, mark your calendar so you will be reminded not to wake up early for school or work. ;)

Get An Affordable Gadget at Lazada

My blogging career really helps me a lot both socially and financially. Socially, because I was able to meet many blogger friends AND financially because I get to earn an extra income for our needs. I was thankful to my sister who gave me a laptop so that I could continue my online career at home. The laptop works fine but it is too heavy for me to carry so I rather use it only when I am home. Internet connection in school is quite slow so all my online tasks and updates should be done at home only.

My class schedules has so many vacant hours in between and sometimes if I won't be checking my student's works, I just spend my idle time playing computer games or watching TV and taking a nap and I always thought that all those wasted time should be spent online. If I could only make use of my vacant times at school doing it, I won't be spending too much time in front of my laptop anymore. There will be no more late night sleep. As a Mom of two, I need to prioritize taking care the needs of my babies before doing anything else. Ideally, I work on the computer when my babies are already asleep.

I've been eyeing for a net book that is convenient enough to carry but considering the price, I guess I would better settle for tablet instead. It is among my wish list for Christmas but really I am hoping that I could have it before Christmas. Tablet could have many uses for me. Besides, tablets are very affordable right now. I saw it on Lazada website. I could have it for as low as P 3,000.00 or roughly 70USD.

You see, I was very positive that I could own this gadget. I love COBY KYROS Tab because of its affordability. When I invest something, I do not really spend too much, am not a big spender because I know my limit. Well, I just want to thank Lazada. I've tried online shopping before but the company was from Singapore and it took more than a month before the package arrive. It's too late for me to realize that we have a Pinoy Online Shopping site that is not only affordable but offers free shipping too! Not only that, you can also pay upon delivery and if you got some issues, Lazada is open for free returns within 14 days. Wow! That's what I am looking for in online shopping, customers are guaranteed to be safe with their purchases. Also, I've got a lot of options to choose from because they almost got everything that I need or want. Lazada is so amazing for giving such a big discounts on most of their products as well. I even love their fashionable items on sale.

My FB status expressing my interest LOL!

Wish I could have lot of funds on my PayPal soon so I could do an early Christmas shopping for my love ones. They also offer P200 voucher discount for just simply subscribing to their newsletter. See, as soon as I get the funds, I already have a P200 discounts to avail! That's more than good news! I know you are interested too while still reading this. So what are you waiting for? Visit their site, subscribe to their newsletter, get an account and enjoy shopping!

US Government Shutdown?

When I first heard the news about US government shutdown, I was surprised or shall I say confused: How could that be? The land of milk and honey will face another challenges and I was much concern because my sister lives there with her hubby. I just hope this will not have a greater impact around the globe. The infographics below shows three agencies that have been closed since 1st of October this year: Medical Research, Museum and Parks and the Environmental Protection Agency. I haven't read anything so far if this closure will just be temporary or for good. Though other departments and agencies are open but they will likely to furlough some staff.

Like what I said, I was really confused about the issue. Anyway, let me share a part of the article from Yahoo! news regarding this issue:

The US leader is scheduled to leave for Asia on Saturday, but the trip now depends on how the first US government shutdown in 17 years plays out.

So far, the signs are not encouraging, as Republicans and Democrats in Washington appeared no closer to reaching agreement on a spending bill to keep the government running.
For a second day, federal workers will stay off the job without pay and tourists will be turned away from Washington's museums and monuments, amid national exasperation that the nation's elected officials were unable to avoid the impasse.
Obama on Tuesday accused conservatives in the House of Representatives of waging an "ideological crusade" by making government funding conditional on gutting his landmark health care law.
His top foe, Republican House Speaker John Boehner, said Obama was pursuing a "scorched earth" policy by refusing to negotiate, as the rhetoric hit new heights and hopes faded for a swift end to the standoff... click HERE for more
Oh, ObamaCare, is this the reason behind this crisis? Filipinos who stayed in US was solicited for reaction by the newsgroup and some were happy about this health care law that was authored by President Obama himself, which was also the reason for disagreement between Dominican and Republican officials.

Well, I am confident that President Obama can take care of this. Wherever this issue may lead, it is my prayer that all Filipino workers and immigrants in the US will always be safe from the effect of this issue.

God bless America!

Maximizing His Potentials

My husband at work
Local election is fast approaching and many aspiring candidates are already preparing their jingle, which, I guess, only happens in the Philippines. I remember how my husband earned money out of it together with selected members of the choir group in our congregation. A certain politician, who is also a common friend of our minister, approached them once asking them to make an election jingle for him. He preferred to choose them because he wants to come up with a wholesome election jingle that will leave a lasting impression among his constituents. In short span of time (as requested), the jingle was completed with only two vocals, and a multiplex. But the output was like the jingle was done with a complete set of accompaniments like drums on the background. My husband did the tricks with his little knowledge in audio and music editing.

My husband’s passion for music doesn't limit him to just playing the guitar, beating the drum or any other musical instruments. I was amazed on how he can edit background music with audio or musical effects. He can add effects like it was really real or done actually. I know most of the guys knew about it yet, my man doesn't really have a formal training on this area. He is only a sound technician in our church. But his curiosity brought him to learn beyond the ordinary. He loves exploring the net to find tips on how to improve such skills. Right now, he is also curious about bfd2 and hopes to have one so he could really maximize his potentials.
