WFW: Are You Truly Released?

Romans 7:6 (52 kb)

People who are bounded with the law still exist today. They are those who haven't fully realized yet with what Jesus Christ have done for them on the cross. They still follow the old traditions when it comes to foods, clothing, and manner of worshiping.

However, there are still some who claimed to have complete faith in Jesus Christ yet they are still bounded not with the old law, but with their old, selfish ways. They claimed to have Jesus Christ in their lives yet it does not manifest. Many were still stumbled with their attitude, with their ways of dealing other people and their manner of speech.

How about you, are you really released or still slaved with your old self which Jesus Christ have supposedly ransomed more than two thousand years ago.

WFW: Guard Over Your Mouth

Psalm 141:3 (29 kb)

It is undeniable that one of the factors that leads us to sin is what comes out in our mouth. We became too tactless with what we utter that we caused others to get hurt or be offended. It is Biblical that our mouth is only a small part of our body yet its capacity can either bless or cursed other person.

It is then advisable for us to let our mind process first what we are going to say before blurting it out. In this way, we can somehow avoid to utter those words that are inappropriate. Let us be careful, extra careful. Let us ask God for wisdom. We should consider our mind over our emotion because sometimes it is our emotion that provoke us to say those words that should be left unsaid...

WFW: Charm is deceptive...

Yes indeed, charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting. It's not what is seen by the eyes determines the real beauty of a woman, it's what's within her... A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised...

WFW: Our Labor For God Is Not In Vain

Before this year ends, let's try to have a self-inventory which will include our attitude towards our work... How fair and honest are we when it comes to performing our specific tasks? Do we keep on complaining? Do we keep on arguing with our office mates? It would be too arrogant for us to say that we did nothing wrong for the whole years' work. We cannot deny the fact that we've been through stressful jobs which could affect our attitude towards work (which sometimes would be negative :)

For 2012, let's try to make a difference. If we do not like our Bosses, then why not dedicate our work towards God instead of men... Just like what have been emphasized in the book of Thessalonians. And as to our Ministry, let us just focus our heart and mind to the main reason why we are continually doing it. Let Jesus Christ be our focus, and let our strength and endurance be drawn from Him. Let us just remember that our labor for Him will never be in vain.

Happy New Year everyone!

WFW: Aware Yet Taken For Granted

All of us are aware that Jesus Christ is indeed our One and only Saviour, however, many of us just simply took it for granted... Sad, but it's true. I was even so surprised when one of my students said that she do not believe in HELL. The young generation today is in danger... Most of them are blinded from the truth. They are too preoccupied with all the comforts that the world could offer...

WFW: Fear

Mark 6: 50
50 because they all saw him and were terrified.
Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
Most of us are living in fears... Fear to face the truth and take the challenges... Fear to face the consequences of all our actions and above all , fear of accepting defeat.
How to overcome fear?
Overcoming fear is easier said than done.
Our fear disable us to show our potentials maybe because we have the fear of rejection.
Our fear hinders us to do the will of God for fear of correction...
Fear cripples our potential, hides our motivation...
But if we only trust God everything that is within us, fear would be just a word...

But there's one kind of fear that each one of us must remember- that is the fear of the Lord for we knew that it is the beginning of all wisdom.

Proverbs 1:7

New International Version (NIV)
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools[a] despise wisdom and instruction.

Jesus' Ministry

Jesus, the King of all kings with all humility leave His throne in heaven and step down to Earth to be with the Jews who persecuted Him later on and also with the Gentiles whom His mercy was extended. Indeed, by all means, God do everything to win our soul yet some of us hardened our heart as if we have the full control of the life that He just lend to us.
During Jesus' ministry here on Earth, He did not choose those who are on the elite group. He chooses ordinary men to become His disciples. He chooses the likes of you and me to honor Him and to show to the whole world that He can make an extra-ordinary things through us, the ordinary people. No, He doesn't show any favoritism. He was just being denied by those in authority, by the "knowledgeable" (the hypocrites) and during His ministry He made such a great impact that the Pharisees were so envious that they plotted to kill Him...

Jesus' death is not just an ordinary death. It paves the way for us to be saved. The blood that He shed cleanses us all from unrighteousness. If we lack the faith in believing everything that Jesus did for us, it's gonna be our great loss!

WFW: Are You Willing To Go?

Can you hear God calling you right now? Are you willing to be used for his greater glory? How far are you willing to go?

You don't need to go to far places in serving God. Just simply look around you and feel the need of reaching out to others. Allow God to use you within your territory. Being a missionary doesn't have to be traveling to the mountains for others can do that. Just be willing to do God's will.

Listen to that still small voice- God is calling you.

WFW: LUST

Just this morning, our Daily Devotional topic was focused on 1John 2: 15-17:

15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

LUST...

Lust of the eyes... that's how sin was conceived. Then the  lust of the flesh follows fully supported with the pride of life.

Normally, whenever we saw things that are appealing to us it caused us to do something in order to acquire it. Just as Eve was tempted with the fruit of the trees upon seeing it (with the Devil's deceitful scheme) so are we with the things on this world. By the time she ate it, it's her flesh that entice her to commit such act thinking that what the serpent have told her are true-  which is knowing all things just like God (that's pride of life!)

We should be careful enough in discerning the things that is of this world... We might enjoy all the things that we have right now but we should not forget that this will all come to pass, nothing is permanent in this world therefore we should not be too attached on everything that the world can offer... Let's fix our eyes to what is eternal. Do not try to bite the fruit of deception that was offered by Satan...

WFW: Be Still

We came to a point in our lives wherein hope is seems out of sight. No matter how much we tried to remind ourselves that everything will be okay, still the anxiety within us remains.Lately I have so many concerns that I almost forgot to remember God's words: Be Still.

Sometimes, our human nature overpowered us even if we knew for a fact that God will never forsake us. The faith that we once have sometimes diminish because we haven't received an immediate answer to our prayers.

How To Remain Still In The Midst Of Troubles?

It's difficult indeed. Much more if the faith that we have for God is not that strong. Our anxieties grows even more when the situation seems so unfavorable for us. The questions like : What shall we do? How can we overcome this? Where do we go from here? and the likes, these are the questions that will weaken us little by little.

But God never fails us. His Words will forever hold true. We just need to strengthen our faith on Him. Being anxious will just mislead us to falter away from the truth. Above all, it will just hinder us to receive more blessings from God on the right time, at His appointed time.

Be still, knowing that we have a BIG GOD.
