Safety First

Vehicular accidents often happen. We heard it on the news, and there's even some which we have actually seen from our naked eyes. It is a horrible scene that even I cannot imagine. I am into a vehicular accident once. It was really so scary. I am with my friends that time. We came from leadership training. While we are on our way, the wheel suddenly wiggle that brought us to the opposite lane and then it turn half-side down to the ground. The van was really damaged. The front mirror of the passenger van broke into pieces. The side windows crack and the right front wheel was removed. By God’s grace none of us died though most of us were quite injured.

When we were brought to the hospital, the car was left to the site. It has to be towed back to the city. Good thing it was insured, the expenses for the repair was really expensive if without an insurance. There are so many auto insurance now like HVG insurance which offers excellent deals. It is even easier to the part of the owner if the insurance company offers a 24-hour hassle free claim transactions. There are some who requires a lot which delayed the transaction and left you and your car waiting for long.

Some may not get their vehicle insured thinking that it will just entail a lot of cost. Partly true, but one must consider that this is for their own benefit. Besides, it is not really a problem considering that there are insurance companies which offers discounted prices for comprehensive insurance. Don’t take the risk, life is so precious. Safety first.

When Love and Hate Collide at Haiti...

Barely one week ago, a destructive 7.0 magnitude earthquake shaken the world of Haiti turning the buildings into rubbles and killing a lot of people including Filipinos... That wrath has never ended yet because once again they were traumatically shaken  with a lesser magnitude of 6.1 causing the people to run to the streets fearing of being trapped again inside a building...

Not a good start for the year2010 for them. Haiti is believe to be the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere... Helpless Haitians were seeking for help. They have not yet recovered from the aftershock of the previous incidents and now the latest roar reminded them again.. Who can survive such a situation as this... Everything happens for a reason but sometimes that reason is beyond our comprehension.

Let's pray for them... God bless.

How Far Can Unreasonable Anger May Take You?

I have researched multiple verses about ANGER and this is what I got. All of these are from the NIV Translation:

Proverbs 12:16 A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.
Proverbs 14:29 A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.
Proverbs 29:22 An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.
Proverbs 30:33 For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife."
Ecclesiastes 7:9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
Colossians 3:8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
Psalms 37:8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret-it leads only to evil.
Ephesians 4:26,27 In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
Ephesians 4:31,32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
James 1:19,20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

Out of those verses I've quoted, I would like to emphasize on this one particular verse:

Proverbs 30:33 For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife."

Anger can only make sense if done without committing a sin... Often in the TV News and even to our local Radio, we heard almost everyday about people killing one another because of anger. They were provoked thus resulting to a murderous act. Who does not feel angry ever since? I guess, none of us. Even a little child has his tantrums, so with us adult.  Anger became a sin when you did something that is against the law.

It's not bad to get angry. We also need to release the tensions that we have inside us provided that we cannot commit murder (Sounds too extreme?). Yelling and cursing to  somebody you hated the most (or maybe  during that moment) is a crime itself. The book of Ephesians 4:29 (NIV) says:

29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen

We should be careful. If we let anger overwhelms us, chances are we can no longer control ourselves. Look at Jason Ivler. He's been in the news nationwide and the crime he had committed. Everything is originated from unreasonable anger and pride maybe?

His life's experience may serve as a lesson to those who just can't calm and control themselves.

Preserve  your life, your family and your future.

CONFLICT IS INEVITABLE;
OUR RESPONSE IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Overcoming Your Fear

There are things that we considered as dreadful to do, though, not true for everybody but only to a few who are afraid of that particular thing. Like myself, I really hate needle being injected through my veins, but I said to myself that I have to overcome that fear. That fear was brought about when I had my much-more-dreadful vehicular accident more than 4 years ago. Various needles were injected on my arms, from blood test to anti-tetanus and the last one was the PANTOLOC that was injected through the dextrose. Indeed that's the most painful physical experience that I had (aside from the actual accident). It haunted me, and I hate it.but need to overcome it and I successfully did. Last year I went through blood letting. At first I was really hesitant but my desire to overcome that fear overwhelms me. That was my first. Then I decided to undergo the same process for the next three months but I was not feeling well so it was postponed. Then today, finally, I got the chance to donate a blood again. (Thanks to mobile Red Cross team)

It was very timely because my colleague need a blood (of the same type) for his brother who is into a weekly dialysis because of his kidney. It feels good to be of help.
The best way to overcome your fear is to face it.
