One Peso Coin

♫ I'm broke but I'm happy, I'm poor but I'm kind... ☺♫

That's a line from the song "One Hand In My Pocket" by Alanis Morissette. There's a hint of irony in there so to speak. How could you be possibly happy when you are totally broke? How can you possibly be kind when you have nothing else to give? Well, you can really think of these when all you have in mind is money and all those other material things.

But what will you do if you wake up one day and found out that everything you've got in your pocket is just one peso? Yes it is true that for times like this, you need to look up and seek for God's help. God sees and He knows. But you just cannot stay calm and wait for miracles that money will be poured right into your doorsteps. You need to do something. Honestly, you can't really help but get worried when all you have is yourself and your one peso coin. What if you have mouths to feed? You will surely get panic especially if you are the only one who can provide food on the table.

Situation like this is so hard to bear. Many said that it takes faith to overcome such ordeals. Faith that God will never ever leave us nor let us sleep with an empty stomach. But sometimes, prayer alone is not enough. We need to do something out of the wisdom that God has given us. After we pray, it is not wrong if we seek for help from those people whom we thought could really help us. We will know that God is working with our plan when the people whom we sought for help will willingly extend his/her hands and heart to us without any hesitation.

We can still be happy even if we are penniless as long as we knew that there are people whom God has given to us who are willing to help us along the way. We can also be kind even if we thought we are poor by being good to others even if they seems acted otherwise for us. And with that, Alanis Morissette could be right with her line:

♫ I'm broke but I'm happy, I'm poor but I'm kind... ☺♫

Making A Great Impact

As a teacher, it is a great challenge on how to make a great impact among your students. But for me, it is such a privilege to be a teacher. My sphere of influence will enable me to make the difference that I want. I may not be the best teacher but I am willing to run an extra mile just to impart everything that I learned.

There are different ways in gauging teacher's impact among his/her students. One is the learning attitude of the students. If the student learn something, it is shown through his/her output performance. However, there are students who are just reluctant to learn. These are the students who consider going to school as a burden. Nevertheless, the teacher has the ability to change such kind of perception by motivating them until they will really learn. There are factors that the teacher should consider in assessing those kind of students.

The teacher need not be totally talented. All the teacher need is the sensitivity to assess the needs of the students. Once the student's needs has been addressed, the teacher can be assured of a healthy learning process among his/her students. That's what I consider as "impact".

Going Back to My First Love...

I realized how I miss teaching so much. Now that I am back to the teaching arena- there are things that I need to sacrifice (Oh-ow what a term LOL). For the meantime, I need to bid FB goodbye, need to take a hiatus from blogging, need to limit my time in front of the computer (specifically, the internet). Honestly, I have now limited access to the internet, I don't have one right now. But then, considering that blogging is my source of additional income, i made it a point to post and update my blog at least once or twice a week, just like what I did right now.

I used to teach before even if I am already in the office working as an Admin staff but it has been limited to two sections or two subjects only. Unlike now wherein I get to handle seven classes per week. What I surely miss is my Drawing class, which now becomes my major preparation. After three school years, I am back again to the Drawing Room. Though I am a little bit sad because there were problems I encountered regarding room facilities and room assignments. But anyway, our Chairman is doing something to meet those needs. And it is normal to experience such problems during first week of school. Nevertheless, I am still happy that finally I am back to my first love.

As of now, there are lot of things that I need to catch up with. To be honest, there are tasks that were left undone like commenting on the blog campaign where I had participated (Hope fellow bloggers will understand me). I am praying that soon I could have a laptop of my own with internet connection. We're living separately from my parent's home so I do not have an access anymore. I am hoping as well that God would allow it to happen because for me, laptop is not a WANT, it's a NECESSITY. :)
