Level 1... COMPLETE

I didn't realize... I just turned 1 year in my blogging career yesterday....
Mind you, I really learned a lot! I may have my ups and downs but everything goes back to normal as it should...
I do have bad experience with my first attempt of cash withdrawal... (can't still figure out as to who's fault was that)... But as a whole, I truly enjoyed blogging... A very wholesome learning experience....
I even used this as a tool in my subject for my students... They too were able to create their own blog...
So now, it's been a year... HOWEVER, wasn't able to come up with any ideas yet to celebrate, thus
No contest...
no giveaways...
no promos...
but in spite of that, hopefully, there will be...
more followers...
more readers...
more opportunities...
more posts to post...
more topics to discuss...
more opportunities to cater...
more ideas to share...more support from my co-bloggers...
and an increase on my page rank!
I am moving forward...
LEVEL UP!

ROLANDO NG III on Pilipinas Got MORE Talent (09.03.10)

Who among us won't won't get carried away of the charm of this young smart boy?
He rock the Pilipinas Got Talent World with his one of a kind singing talent!
And I am very much proud to say that HE IS MY NEIGHBOR @ Kisanlu Subd., Iponan CDO City. I used to call him "THIRD".
I was fascinated with the charisma of this child the first time I knew him. That was during Christmas Party. He will talk to you as if he knew you already. When I asked him to sing he gladly complied without hesitation.
Before I let him buy in our small retail store, I let him sing and his favorite album (I would say) is the Air Supply!
He might not made it to the final (sob) but this child proved his worth already!

WRITE TO EXPRESS NOT TO IMPRESS...

(This is my output during our workshop. The editors got a lot of observations as to the composition as well as the grammar of this article but I'll have it posted anyway...)

ARE YOU DEPRIVED WITH YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD? How far are you willing to go to express your opinion, thoughts and ideas? Will you settle for the local arena or go beyond your boundaries? Do you wish to address your message to the majority or to some selected few? These are challenging questions that each one of us should take into consideration when we want to exercise our freedom of expression.

Expressing our freedom of expression knows no limit. We can go as far as we could imagine, not literally but technically. We can use various forms of medium in sending our message. In return, we can receive feedbacks from the message we sent. That is how communication goes. It is a two-way process. In the communication process, we can either be the sender or the receiver. If the receiver becomes responsive, it could only mean that the message was interesting enough. Otherwise, we need to reconsider the significance of our concerns before sending it out.

We might have that freedom of expression but with that freedom we must have that sense of accountabilities. We are accountable of everything that we said, of every message or opinions that we expressed. We must uphold honesty and integrity for every word that we expressed. That’s real freedom. It is exactly contradicting to what most people believed. Freedom may mean doing things in accordance to our will but its consequence is beyond our control. Of course, no one would wish to spend the rest of their lives behind bars, would you? ETHICS is the keyword for that freedom to be fully exercised.

All these insights I learned not just by merely sitting on the corner and doing nothing, I learned all of these from the two-day seminar workshop in Basic Journalism sponsored by the Corporate Affairs Office of Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST). The activity was initiated to equip the university with pool of writers from various departments that will bring the latest updates of the university to the global community.

We have to write to EXPRESS, not to impress. Otherwise, we might end up so depressed.

Happy writing!

Essence of Journalism...

I am very much privilege to be a part of the Seminar-Workshop on Basic Journalism initiated by the Office of the Corporate Affairs in our school. It is a two-day workshop pre-loaded with a lot of inputs in journalism. I totally appreciate this kind of activity. Writing has been already a part of me. I've been writing in many forms but honestly I don't have basic knowledge in journalism. Though I am not into news writing but the fact that I did vital documentaries that has something to do with the procurement process, I knew that this one would really be of great help.
Ms. Imma Rae Gatuslao, Chief of the City Information Office (CdeO) was our first lecturer on Writing for University Affairs. I learned a lot from her about corporate communication. I learned that  the corporation's voice and the image it projects should go along well together. We should be able to maintain the integrity by being honest with all our inputs. She emphasized that ETHICS is a necessary component in corporate communication. In writing, we should consider our receiver as part of our constituencies by giving them an appropriate messages through an equally applicable medium that suits their need and situation.
An effective communication should have the following criteria:

Our lecturer put it simply this way:
Sender --------------->     Message    --------------> Receiver
Medium

after the message was sent through an appropriate media, the receiver may have his feedback which in turn will make the sender as the receiver this time (it's a two way process just as shown on the figure above). The presentation was brief but concise. I also learned about 5Ws and 1H (What, Who, When, Where, Why and How). Informative, indeed!
The second topic was about The Basics of  News Writing  by Mr. Ismael Talili. He gave us our first workshop in straight news writing focusing on our new enrollment system that was recently adopted by the school. After the challenging group activity presentation, a rigid critiquing/editing was done which concluded the first-day session. One powerful point that I learned from his discussion was that, in news writing we should  Keep It Short and Simple (KISS)...

Now, that's what I considered as the essence of journalism!

I am looking forward for another challenging task tomorrow....

Election 101: How To Accomplish The Ballot

2 days more to go and it's gonna be a judgment day for all the aspiring candidates of the AUTOMATED May 2010 election...

The COMELEC said everything is all set for this Monday's nationwide activity...Many apprehensions, speculations and confusions (all synonyms?) were made by the public, especially by the lower class society who were not able to get the opportunity of educating themselves with the current method. Even for those who are knowledgeable enough with computers still need further understanding about the new procedure. From filling up the ballot to feeding it to the PCOS machine is still an issue... With my little effort to inform us all (this is also available to the COMELEC's Official Website), the following are the methods in accomplishing the ballot:

HOW TO ACCOMPLISH THE BALLOT
Pursuant to Section 35 of Resolution No. 8739
1. The voter shall, using a ballot secrecy folder and the marking pen provided by the COMELEC, fill his ballot by fully shading the oval beside the names of the candidates and political party participating in the party list system of representation of his choice.
2. The voter shall then approach the PC0S;insert his ballot in the ballot entry slot and wait until the ballot is dropped into the ballot box. The BEI shall monitor the PCOS screen to make sure that the ballot was successfully accepted. Thereafter, the voter shall return the ballot secrecy folder and marking pen to the chairman.
3. The chairman shall apply indelible ink at the base and extending to the cuticle of the right forefinger nail of the voter, or any other nail if there be no forefinger nail.
4. The voter shall affix his thumb mark on the corresponding space in the EDCVL.
5. The voter shall then leave the polling place.

Please be guided. Vote with conscience.

TT: Being Thankful

I've got a lot of things to thank God for:
1. for the life of Meryl Ajan who committed her time to study the Word of God with me through PDL series;
2. for the opportunity that God entrusted on me to share His message of Patience/Impatience to my fellow brethren;
3. for my Lighthouse family and their prayers;
4. for the wonderful things that God has in store for me... for the things that is yet to come...

I am positive and firmly believe that something good is about to happen to the community and to our nation as a whole right after the national election. (AMEN)

TCP: Inkheart

I'm back for Tuesday Couch Potatoes! Before I will feature my choice of movie for this week's theme, let me say something about Novel-based stories... (I didn't mean to spoil anything, no pun intended :)
Sometimes, novel-inspired movies doesn't convey every detail that we have read from the book.. Well, of course, considering the scene that only a pen can mightily do, it's actually understandable. Most of the movies that I were able to watch left me hanging, not because the movie wasn't good enough but the story is a little bit different...Well, CREATIVITY comes in. Let's consider the "choreography" thing....
Anyway, I've seen a lot of novel-inspired movies, I have there The Notebook (which I already featured on the previous edition), Lord of the Rings (wasn't able to follow completely), Twilight Saga (my students has a lot of comments about this-they love the novel more than the movie), Harry Potter (wasn't able to complete this as well) and a whole lot more!
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke (Hardcover)But, this week, I'm gonna feature ♥INKHEART ♥ with Brendan Fraser on the lead role... I wasn't able to watch this movie yet but I have a book written by Cornelia Funke (soft bound, quite thick)... this is more on more on fantasy adventure movie. But mind you, it's a very interesting story, somehow scared me a bit... I just do hope, the movie speaks well for the novel. Here's the synopsis:
Inkheart (+ BD-Live) [Blu-ray]Author Cornelia Funke's best-selling children's novel comes to vivid life on the big screen with this family-friendly tale about a bookbinder whose storytelling skills possess the curious power to transport the characters he speaks about into the real world. When a nefarious villain from a bedtime story that the father is currently reading to his daughter emerges to kidnap the stunned storyteller, it's up to the young girl and her adventurous friends -- both real and imaginary -- to bring dad back home and close the book on the dreaded fiend once and for all.
My merely watching its trailer, I guess this is promising....

See for yourself and explore your imagination.... Consider this on your list!
God bless....
Parental Guidance is highly encouraged ☺

Dear (Pastor) John...

People come and go into our lives... Other chose to stay but there are some who will really stick closer to us. Their life becomes our inspiration. We can rarely find this kind of persons...
I am grateful to God that in my journey as an individual, He lead me to His people who may not really be that perfect but their existence made a difference in my life... I may sometimes felt alone  and empty  on the course of my journey, but God gave me people who filled it up and whom I can consider as my extended family... You are among them Pastor John...
The day I had my first Sunday service, I cannot forget that very warm smile welcoming me wholeheartedly... that was you, and right then I can feel like I really belong. I do admire you as a very loving  father to IJ and Dale as well as a romantic husband to Ate Grace... What an ideal couple I have in you!

I always remember most, if not all, of your nuggets of wisdom, your prank jokes, your loving advices, your words of discipline, your words of encouragement...

Ate Grace said we shared a lot in common when it comes to art, but for me, you are far better than me (considering the AGE...oops.... and the experience)... it runs in the blood, Bro? Seriously, how blessed I am to have known you Pas: my adviser, counselor, a real brother, a minister. Indeed, I can see a "real" person in you.

Thank you so much for everything, I may tend to forget uttering this words right into your face, but God knows that I really do.

May God continually bless you.

Happy Birthday!

Living a healthy lifestyle requires discipline. Most people right now became so health conscious. And why not? sickness of different kinds nowadays is causing paranoia to most of us. One dreadful example is the CANCER.  What we often seen on TV or witnessed among some of our acquaintances leads us to a conclusion that  CANCER diseases seems kind of normal occurrence in our generation. A couple of decades ago, we seldom hear that kind of problem happening to an individuals.   Indeed, this kind of diseases which can be shown up in many forms is causing an alarm to all ages right now. It pays to read  Health and Fitness Articles which will give us ideas on how to prevent in having this kind of problem. CANCER can cause many complications to our health especially if it is already on higher stages. However, CANCER is just a word and it is curable, not with chemo therapy but with Alternative Medicine! I have a friend whom I admired the most but was not spared by this kind of illness, but by the grace of God, recovery is on the way with the aid of Alternative medicine!
We should not wait for this kind of illness to break us apart, prevention is what we have to do. By reading Health and Fitness Articles we can start to live a healthy lifestyle by religiously following what is right  and disciplining ourselves from the possible causes of illnesses.
Act now, read and have a healthy lifestyle!

WFW: Trusting God Again and Again....

God is too wise to be mistaken....
God is too good to be unkind...
When we can't trace His hand...
Let us trust His heart.

Yes indeed! Why should I worry about my future... I should remain still, knowing that God is there.
Thank you, Lord.

Dare to Bet?

How do we defined sport bets?. Sports betting is the process of predicting the result of a game, event or match by wagering on the outcome of the contest. This is very much common in the United States. I remember my US citizen brother in law one time who can't get enough with his favorite  football game that when he arrived here in the Philippines, he spend most of the time on the internet watching the games. When I asked my sister, she explained to me that her husband were just monitoring the outcome of the game because he is placing his bet on his favorite team! How was it done is the question that triggers my mind because I do not have any knowledge about betting on game via online. I haven't really heard much of it here in the Philippines. I learned that there are sport bet websites, or sport books, as they called it, wherein one can place his bets for his choice of game.In sportsbettingspot.com, they have there the list of the Top Ten Best Sports Books with corresponding reviews for guidance. They also have tips and tricks about football betting, baseball betting, basketball betting, hockey betting, soccer betting, boxing betting and more.
Here's a screenshot of their Top Ten Sports Books:

TCP: Notting Hill

I am back at TCP for this week's episode about Julia Robert's movies... I really don't find her too attractive but wow she got a very wonderful acting skills that made her to the top! And for this week, I am going to feature her Notting Hill movie with Hugh Grant! In this movie, they proved that Love can happen to anyone, anytime. No barriers, no discrimination or whatsoever....
Here's a review from one of the viewer...  (for sure most of us were able to watch this 1999 Blockbuster movie) just a sort of reminiscing' the story...
Every man's dream comes true for William Thacker, an unsuccessful Notting Hill bookstore owner, when Anna Scott, the world's most beautiful woman and best-liked actress, enters his shop. A little later, he still can't believe it himself, William runs into her again - this time spilling orange juice over her. Anna accepts his offer to change in his nearby apartment, and thanks him with a kiss, which seems to surprise her even more than him. Eventually, Anna and William get to know each other better over the months, but being together with the world's most wanted woman is not easy - neither around your closest friends, nor in front of the all-devouring press.
AND THE TRAILER:

If you missed this movie then get it now, right here! For sure you do missed her.

Me. myself & I

Photobucket

God Brought Me Here for a Reason! So true... i do firmly believe that God allow me to exist on Earth for a very significant purpose! In fact, I do believe as well that God brought my BC Blogger family for a very distinct reason... Nothing is arbitrary, nothing is caused by accident! Wow...and that inspired me to have my blog entitled that way.

Hello my co- BC Bloggers, this is me... Jackie or let's make it unique by reading backward, I am EIKCAJ! I am 100% human who is sensitive in so many ways..(oops!) I mean, emotionally, i am overly sensitive (trying to overcome it though...)I am currently working as a staff in the office of the Bids and Awards Committee Secretariat in our school (Mindanao University of Science and Technology-main campus) and at the same time teaching Basic CAD subject (too preoccupied, right?).

I view life as unpredictable... God has His own way in dealing each one of us. I cannot define my life or view  it as really perfect, but i am coping up amidst my shortcomings...

I love to do so many things but sometimes can't find time to do all of it....
I love to write...draw... sing... listen to music... watch sunset.... and just be myself...

I am partly introvert and partly extrovert (depending upon the situation/circumstances...) Some people may misunderstood me but this is just the real me....

I love those people who will love me and I just ignore those who don't.

After all, I am not good in pleasing everyone (no one does)...

One thing is for sure... as long as God is with me, I don't really care if some will disagree with me...It's not about them, it's about Him... like what i said, i am not perfect, I am just an ordinary girl, whom God loved so much! :) I am not really hard to deal with...

NVIC: Effeciently Saving Mother Earth

With the advanced technologies we have enjoyed right now, it cannot be denied that part of that progress is the devastation of our dear Mother Earth. Evident of that was the global warming that we have struggled for so long as well as  the unpredictable climate change. With the fast-pacing growth of our  industrial companies, their waste became our worst dilemma. More groups existed today were having a campaign on saving our Mother Earth.
This has been the advocacy of the N-Viro International Corporation (NVIC) which started more than a decade ago. The N-Viro Process is a patented technology process for the treatment and recycling of bio-organic wastes, utilizing certain alkaline by-products produced by the cement, lime, electric utilities and other industries. This process stabilizes organic waste thru pasteurization and complete disinfection. Their patented processes use lime and/or mineral-rich, combustion byproducts to treat, pasteurize, immobilize and convert wastewater      sludge and other bio-organic wastes into biomineral agricultural and soil-enrichment products with real market value. They are also promoting the use of alternative energy, renewable energy with their N-Viro Fuel Technology. They are both oiperating in Toledo, Ohio and Daytona, Florida.

To know more about this corporation check their website

See N-Viro video for a better and clearer grasp about their advocaies...

Let's be a part of saving our Mother Earth!
