The Election Aftermath

So, the election was over. Those candidates who loses against their opponent at quite a wide margin, they readily concede while there are some who just cannot accept defeat easily. In our local area, we've got new Mayor and some new Councilors. Our new Mayor was the former Governor of Misamis Oriental, ex-Gov. Oscar "Oca" Moreno. During the campaign period, I heard a lot of black propaganda against him yet the Kagay-anons made up their mind- they want a renewed government under a new governance. Well, all I could say is that the newly elected Mayor has to prove his detractors wrong with all the allegations that were being thrown unto him during the campaign. And I am wishing him all the best for Cagayan de Oro under his governance. I just hope he will not fail all those who have trusted him last May 13, 2013.

As for the senatorial race, I checked my Yahoo account this morning and learned that Grace Poe took the lead among the Senator-aspirants who made it to the Magic 12 (overtaking the then No. 1 choice-Sen. Loren Legarda who landed on the second place). Well, this newbie is quite promising and hopefully as well, she will really live up to the people's expectation for her. So far, Team PNoy leads the Senatorial race.

For us voters, constituents, ordinary citizens- let us just hope and pray that those who won this election will really put public service first above their personal interest.

BSU Summer Class Journey...

With only few days left before the class will end, I made it sure that I will give more emphasis on Isometric topic and this time involving ellipse. So for their next activity/project I have this figure for them:

Sad to say, there are still few who just do not know how to analyze the given figure. I tried to make a one-on-one tutorial with them yet still they are struggling much especially in isometric topic :(

Oh by the way, this is how it looks like when the Isometric is done:

Well, that's all for today. It's gonna be a long weekend because they will be going home to exercise their rights to suffrage for this May 13 election :)

Aja!

BSU Summer Class Journey...

Well, forget about the days we've gone so far. Let me share to you the activities that they have performed:

Ortho & Iso Exercise 1

This is their first activity for Isometric and Orthographic Projection. Sad to say, after so much explanation and demonstration I've done for them, only few got it right. I am all the more frustrated with the result of their project:

Ortho & Iso Project 1

They have different version of the figure. With my utmost desire to really let them learn it well, I gave them another activity related to our topic after a thorough review of our lesson. I let them have a hands-on exercise first. I called those student whom I found out to be really struggling to check if they understood the lesson well. The result improves somehow but again there were still some who just didn't get it right. I do not know what I should I do with them. And so tomorrow, another project awaits them and hopefully that time, they will have it done right!

Ortho & Iso Project 2
 Until then!

Are You Ready for the Coming Election?

This is what PhilStar got for me on my inbox today:
Well, I really didn't find time to dig on the issue, all I know is that it's barely one week to cast our votes. Almost all the local candidates in our District are busy with their campaigns. Early in the morning you could be awaken with their jingles. They also have their house to house campaign, you could rarely see them again after the election doing this so you better catch them, hand shake with them and respond to their smiles.

As for me, I haven't prepared a list yet in whom to vote. I do have some in mind but I just have to finalize it (hopefully I can do it tonight). All you can hear from most of the politicians are their promises, their platforms. As an ordinary citizens you just have to listen and think wisely. Not all politicians run for the sake of serving the country. Undeniably, there are politicians whose personal interest comes first before the interest of its constituent. Well, I just hope that the people who will be elected this May 13 will be able to firmly keep their promises and will not fail us.

How about you, are you ready to cast your vote?

HAve You Heard About Gewurztraminer Wine?

Am not really into wine drinking. I have tried some of the ladies' drinks and that includes tequila and red wine on the list. I never thought that there are different varieties of wine, some are mild while most are strong, well, it really depends on its alcohol content. But have you heard about Gewurztraminer Wine? Notice how it was spelled, kinda hard, isn't it? So, What is Gewurztraminer Wine? This is one question that sought to be answered. Well, as I go into not-so-deeper research, I learned that Gewurztraminer Wine is an aromatic grape wine (though with a funny name) that is used for making white wine. And considering that it is aromatic, surely as I can see it, it has beneficial effect to our health. They grows in cool climate regions only which includes Canada, Germany, Italy and United States. And mind you, it is best served with spicy Asian cuisine and so much compatible with smoked salmon. Why don't you give it a try?

Day 13

Well, my students today performed their 5th activity with no sweat at all! The objective of the exercise is to familiarize themselves with the different object snaps.Sorry for those who came in late because they have some difficulty in moving their object to the given template. Hmm, I need to impose discipline when it comes to tardiness. Those who will arrive at 30 minutes beyond the time should no longer be allowed to attend the class. Would it be fair then? Just a thought though...

Choose Your Stylish Glasses Wisely

It's summer indeed and the scorching heat of the sun is inevitable! Per advise, it's not only our skin that should get protected, we must take into consideration as well the windows of our soul, our eyes! The more we spend our time under the heat of the sun, we need to wear sun glasses or any protective glasses that will save us from the glaring sun rays. Well, if wearing one makes you feel weird or nerd, then try stylishglasses.

In choosing stylish glasses, see to it that it has anti-scratch and anti-explosion features. Sounds new to you? Well, you may ask your optometrist about it.

BSU Summer Class Journey...

Day 12...

Another challenges to take. They are now working on their Project No. 4. Well, the figure is quite complicated and only few really got it right...;)

My objective is not really to put pressure on them, I just want them to apply all the lessons we had about drawing and modifying commands. However, a little twist of the figure somehow left them wondering on what to do and how should they go about it...

By the way, am done computing their grades... those who failed to submit even just one project got a failing marks though I am still giving them a chance to submit it :)

BSU Summer Class Journey...

Day 10 (Midterm Examination Day)

Too bad my flash disk got corrupted and I cannot even access my important documents like my students' projects and their grades! (done in Excel). I used to note their grades immediately on my spreadsheet but now that it was corrupted I was left with no other choice but to let them redo all the four activities and two projects. What would be the basis of my grade if I won't do it? So, when I told the students, they are quite upset but I explained to them the reason why and somehow they understood.

So, here's my exam:

Theory (A simple identification of AutoCADD screen)

Application (A simple gear)

One Sunny Sunday at the Beach....

T'was Saturday when I asked my hubby that we should go to the beach early Sunday morning. He partly agreed but somehow wasn't able to make it because we woke up late and we need to prepare for the church. However, right after the Sunday service, one of our churchmates invited us for a lunch on the beach. His parents who came fresh from Bukidnon wanted to have swimming before going back home. Well, in spite of the scorching heat of the sun, we went with them and indeed Babie had a good time feeling the roughness of the sand! Since we haven't brought extra clothes, we were not able to let him experience the sea water for a swim... Better luck next time c,")

BSU Summer Class Journey...

Day 8

Yeah Thank God it's Friday! Time for Project No. 2! Well, am not really expecting for that much from them but somehow there are still some students who just couldn't get a very simple instruction! This time, I really need to extend my patience to the nth level. As for that student who made me really mad yesterday, he was absent. He took it seriously when I told him not to show up again in my class. Of course, I uttered that words out of anger but I told his board mates to let him report by next week in consideration to his parents who took the toil in sending him to school, specifically for this summer class. Disciplining youngsters like them isn't an easy task. How I wish that before this class will end, these students will remember all the reminders that I told them in becoming a responsible individual.

BSU Summer Class Journey...

Day 6

My class started well with one activity being performed by my students. However, when I let them practice for the next project which supposedly be done by tomorrow, I was enraged when I check their work from the network support (which enables me to view their monitor), one of them did something else apart from the activity that I sent to their computer. I was so mad that I blew my top and I called him "bastos" because what he did was a sign of being disrespectful to women. See, instead of practicing for the activity that they are going to perform tomorrow, he draw a naked woman. I was totally blown to the top. He came to me when I dismissed them and apologized yet I just couldn't forgive him for that. Students now are really different if we compared them to students long time ago. I do not know what really comes into his mind that he did such thing. I was even threatening him to report it to the Dean. It is disheartening to think that if there are more students who are just like him, what would be the future of our society? Such kind of student should be dealt with accordingly because once tolerated, we might just be producing an immoral individual that might cause a big problem in the society.

Whew! what a day!

BSU Summer Class Journey...

Day 5...

I was late!

Anyway, so far, so good... My students have already adjusted to our lessons. Though there are still some who couldn't really do their project on their own but at least they are exerting real effort to learn the commands. I just need to keep on reminding them to take down notes. Morning session ends up earlier because they have done their activity faster than the previous sessions. Afternoon session is equally good. There are more serious students on this group. They too finished their hands-on activity an hour before the time. So I just asked them to photocopy the notes and activity for tomorrow's session.

What a day!

BSU Summer Class Journey

Day 4...

It's Tuesday! Again and again I was late! I need to walk quite a distance before reaching the office and I usually find myself breathing heavily! (My tummy gets bigger and heavier anyway LOL)!

My students are improving well. There's only few left who just cannot really grasp the lessons as they should be. Our activity for today is quite challenging. I introduced new commands like Scale, Polyline and PEDIT! As usual, I spoon fed them with the do's and don'ts but there are still some who committed some mistakes. Anyway, for them to really do their best, we agreed that all unsatisfactory outputs will be returned to them unchecked so they have to repeat it until they got it right! At least they agreed with me LOL!

BSU Summer Class Journey...

Day 3

It's Monday, and I was late! I was tagging along my son with me that is why I was late LOL! Anyway, I can see on the faces of my students that they are really determined enough to learn. Before giving them their activity for the day, I asked them about their struggles. Good thing they are open enough to share the things that they truly found difficult. So I once again made some recap with our past discussions. A series of demo was done. I also emphasized to them the value of taking down notes and listening to every discussions I gave. So far everything paid off with the result of their work. Indeed, extra patience is all I need!
