Can the Post Office Survive the Digital Age?

My attention was caught with this headline from WebProNews to which I am a subscriber. With the electronic mails we have right now which is very much convenient and fast, how can the snail mail survive and compete with such technology?

People are doing so many things online these days. People can even earn their bachelor degree online when it is convenient, and people love email.

Well, we cannot deny the fact that electronic mails are indeed very helpful especially for us who are rushing against time. However, we cannot deny the fact as well that snail mail has something that the e-mail cannot give. For me, I would appreciate it more to receive any personal communication such as love notes  that is personally written knowing that it's the thoughts that really counts. It may take some times to send and receive but the efforts will really pays off if such mail was sent with love. As far as I've known as well, Legal Departments transmit their communications like replies to Motion, Petition, and other Notices through registered mails. Therefore, I should say that Post Office can still survive the Digital Age, not unless everyone is such in a hurry. :)

Generosity May Starts at $1 (A Special Project)

It's been almost three years already since I started my blogging career and I never initiated any give-away contest, not even on my Blogversary... Well, I couldn't think of anything else today (it's my 30th birthday tomorrow by the way) other than thinking on how to earn and save more for my upcoming baby. Blogging opportunities are in drought I guess lol! This dilemma made me think of some project which will involve your generosity my dear co-blogger. I won't be asking for somebody to sponsor any give-away contest but rather, I need somebody who is willing to give $1 (yes, just $1 though you are not hindered nor deprived to give more lol!). I believe that such amount doesn't hurt that much on your pocket ;). This will also allows me to identify those co-bloggers whose willing to give even just a little out from the willingness of their heart...

So, if you are game into this, just give your $1 to my paypal address at jackie090981@yahoo.com with the subject: A Penny for Your Baby.

then Link up so that I could get back to you to say Thank You!

It doesn't take an online masters in accounting to realize that $1 isn't much, but it could help me so much. Your generosity is really appreciated. :)

This project will run until January 1, 2012. My expected due to give birth is on mid-January. I won't be withdrawing such amount until January 2, 2012.

Just click this button for your whole heart support.

Thank you!

iheartWAGW Contest- My Bet!

Being in the limelight, having lots of endorsing opportunities, and being popular is what fashion world is all about! (Well, that's from my own point of view). I salute those women who have the confidence and the courage to carry themselves before the spot light... If I only have the guts and the beauty I would be one of them lol!

Some people who really love fashion might like fashion classes they can learn about from Guide to Online Schools. Fashion is so much fun.

Anyway, recently, What A Girl Wants launches their iheart What A Girl Wants Contest. The mechanics are quite simple. Just simply pose before the camera wearing their fashionable RTW's, save the picture and send it to their facebook fan page at https://www.facebook.com/#!/WAGWOnline. Whoever gets the most likes will get the chance to win a Shopping spree worth P10,000.00!
Of course, since I don't have the chance (and the guts) to be part of the contest, I have here my two bets: they are sisters and I am appealing your generous effort to like them on facebook too! Before you can like their entries, like the page first of What A Girl Wants (please click the link) then look for the following pictures:

WFW: LUST

Just this morning, our Daily Devotional topic was focused on 1John 2: 15-17:

15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

LUST...

Lust of the eyes... that's how sin was conceived. Then the  lust of the flesh follows fully supported with the pride of life.

Normally, whenever we saw things that are appealing to us it caused us to do something in order to acquire it. Just as Eve was tempted with the fruit of the trees upon seeing it (with the Devil's deceitful scheme) so are we with the things on this world. By the time she ate it, it's her flesh that entice her to commit such act thinking that what the serpent have told her are true-  which is knowing all things just like God (that's pride of life!)

We should be careful enough in discerning the things that is of this world... We might enjoy all the things that we have right now but we should not forget that this will all come to pass, nothing is permanent in this world therefore we should not be too attached on everything that the world can offer... Let's fix our eyes to what is eternal. Do not try to bite the fruit of deception that was offered by Satan...

Open office: The Dilemma

For security reason, the ICT management in our school decided to use Open Office Applications. The transitions was indeed very difficult for us who are used in using Microsoft Applications. How I wish a seminar will be conducted. My colleague have the dilemma in adjusting the printing settings specially for the Spreadsheet (Excel equivalent). The footers cannot be printed. Indeed, it really consumed much of our time in adjusting the settings every time we have to print, not to mention the wasted papers. Normally, adjustment period really takes time. We have no choice but to adapt the changes. Anyway, only few things are needed to be mastered. Though OpenOffice Application is closely similar to Microsoft Application, it still needs mastery, and patience perhaps? :)

He Is Kicking!

God is indeed so amazing in creating us. The intricacy is indescribable, beyond our comprehension. At the progress of my pregnancy, I can already feel him move! He is kicking! Yes indeed, I can already barely see it with my two eyes how my tummy moves every time he makes a move! I am so excited. Though I can already feel the weight but the fact that he moves made me glad enough knowing that he is there within my womb lying comfortably... just waiting for the time that he will finally be out into this world...

Be In Fashion: Wear Coloured Contact Lenses

Are you having a hard time with your eyes? If your vision is no longer as clear as before then maybe it's now the time for you to adopt some changes. You can wear correctional eyeglasses or better yet you might as well use coloured contact lenses to keep up with the latest trends. Just make it sure that you follow the application instruction properly to avoid any problem. With coloured contact lenses, you are not only in fashion, you can also be more comfortable than wearing thick prescription eyeglasses. Pick your right color then that will best suit your personality.

Friday Fragments #2: The Search Continues...

Mommy's Idea

Thank God it's Friday!

I want to think positively today while recollecting the events from the past week... This is just a continuation from the previous week (of course!)

Let's start from Saturday (since I ended up reminiscing on Friday last week)

Saturday- My Hubby took a day off from the church activity. We stay the whole day in my mother's house per advice by his personal doctor (none other than, yours truly :). His condition gets better already. We just watch the live coverage of the Golden Float and Drum and Bugle contest on television (It's our city fiesta celebration). I am looking forward to a long vacation since there is no work on Monday and Tuesday.

Sunday- We went to church and proceed to my sister-in-law's house for lunch right after taking some pose before the camera (that's what we usually did after the service:). We thought we could already load our things to our supposedly new location, however, the place was not vacated yet, according to the house owner. I was truly dismayed during that time. We still have to wait until September 8 (a  day before my 30th?). Oh before I forgot, it's our 4th Monthsary! We had dinner at Izzy's Cafe then we spend the night at the church.

Monday- It's Monday and still we have no permanent place to stay, so frustrating indeed. Instead of thinking too much about our situation, hubby and I decided to go with our brethren on a get-together at Spring View Resort. Well, we really have so much fun. At least it relieves us from stress (for a while).

Tuesday- Hubby and I went to the mall. We had a food trip! We had pizza slices, beef siomai, black tea and zago! We enjoyed the moment while watching the kids playing rides. We then proceed to my sister-in-law whose son celebrated his 11th birthday. Then we spend the night at my parent's house.

Wednesday- Back to work indeed! and I was late :( Hubby and I decided to find another place to stay but still to no avail. But we are still trying to seek help from our friends. We spend the night at the church.

Thursday- Am not feeling well. I threw up to a very unlikely place and it's really embarrassing. Good thing I have my very supportive co-teachers who assisted me. I dismissed my class early I just gave them an assignment to work on for the next meeting... Hubby fetched me in school. We spend another night at the church.

Friday- Yah it's already Friday and still we have no permanent place to stay... I am looking forward for another week better than this week... hopefully. I don't wanna come to a point where in I will give up praying as well (God forbids!) And I should end up here

What a long week indeed with full of struggles and challenges. I am still thankful that we're able to survive... There has a lesson to be learned with what we have experienced... Yes, a valuable lesson to be learned.

How about you, my friend? How's your week? Share it with us at Friday Fragments and link it to Half-Past Kissin' Time.
